Changing Java app Names/Icons

I've been installing java games onto my motorola a1200, but certain programs have ugly names. Is there a way to change the names of the apps on my a1200 menu screen?

No, Java names or icons are built in the installation file (jar file) and if you want to change any they should be changed in the jar file and then the jar file is re compiled again, but I don't know how to do that. Someone on the forum have some expertise on this front try to look out for his thread and ask him.

Yes, there is a way. I've done it. Run a forum search for icon. It should bring up a few posts with instructions. It's fairly easy to do.

Note, you'll be wanting to edit the entry BigIcon, not Icon.

What I understand from it that you should do a registry edit on the .system folder or the jar file itself.

I think it night be in the same way, find the registry entry that details the name and change it, but I'm not 100% sure that how it works.

To change the name of the java app or any other app you install just find it in the CardRegistry file and edit the name to whatever you want. Make sure not to use notpad but a program like ultraedit32. I've done this to change the names of the Chinese apps that I've installed to English.
