I like to geek out my toys, but the celphone thing is new. understand cpu's, but this is new.

Updating my firware? is that like updating the sofware? If so, what is branded, and non branded? do i what the new 53P? I went to link, and made no sense out of it. if some one can tell me, with links how to do this, it would be great!!!!!! i need software to do this???

Also, how can i get ride of the stuff that comes on the phone..pictures, ringtones...i want the room for my goddies.!!??????

I use cingular, i used the form here to get the data to make my my toy work, and it works great!!!! Ii would also like to know how to get rid of the cingular name by the date. can i replace it????

also, my fm radio will not work thru my mini usb headphones. can i do something to fix that???? i don't want to use the headset jack.

No there is no other way of listening to the radio other than plugging the headset jack as the phone only senses this jack to allow radio operation as it also acts as an antenna for the radio while the usb port doesn't have an antenna connection with the radio receiver.

Hi did you ever get your fm radio to work? Mine doesnt work either when I plung in head phones it makes the connection noise but stills says plug in head set

Just make sure the headset jack is pushed all the way through, I was terrified the first time I try it but I checked and found that the Jack needs a little more push to make it go all the way in.

Lets get those questions answered.
Flashing... Is to update the files. And sometimes it will enhance or update the phones performance and features. For example.. 46p fixes the blank text message when you check your voicemail. Which one you want is up to you. Right now there is 53p which is out. Only the china mobile version of 53p is out. The difference between unbranded and branded is the unbranded will be in english it will also be stock motorola. Branded will feature a carrier specific logo, icons, and will usually be in another language. Its like buying a phone from cingular and they have their logo everywhere on the phone. Understand?
As for getting rid of the stuff like pictures, ringtones.. There is no need to get rid of those since they dont effect the memory card. Trust me you will barely ever use the phones memory... especially now that us A1200 users have the choice of buying the 2gb micro sd cards! We have plenty of space!
So far there isnt a way to get rid of carrier name.. to do that we need a seem edit.. And seem editing new right now for the a1200. We have people working on it. Stay tuned for when it does come out.
