Thread: [INFO] Flashing with RSD Lite & Troubleshooting Guide

Thumbs up [INFO] Flashing with RSD Lite & Troubleshooting Guide

    1. Download motpcsdrivers.rar and unrar it - place it on your desktop
    2. Install RSD Lite - I like 2.7
    3. Download the firmware and place it on your desktop - unrar it too - place on your desktop
    3. Put the phone in Bootloader Mode - MBM mode by powering on phone and hold down the voice rec and the joystick (it should turn red and say its in MBM mode almost right away)
    4. Plug phone in using usb cable. When asked for drivers for new hardware, point it in the direction to the motpcsdrivers folder you unrared.
    5. Once all is said and done (you might have rebooted a few times already) and assuming your phone is still connected via usb cable, start up RSD Lite. Although, sometimes it seems it works better with RSD open first, but you'll figure it out.
    6. Open the firmware then click start. it might ask for more drivers for new hardware, just direct it to the same motpcsdrivers folder that I told you to place on your desktop for easy access
    7. When RSD Lite finally says "manually restart phone" that's when you turn it off, unplug and turn it back on. once's its fully on, plug it back in and RSD Lite should say "complete"

**NOTE** If you dont want to lose all your contacts...then back it up using MPT - Once you flash...everything on your phone will be GONE.

    Hope this helps you guys/gals!

    First, Good walkthrough!

Second: Flash didnt go as planned? Dont panic!

I have flashed my phone many times, I have had errors and failures, but it always works in the end.

Some troubleshooting steps to try if things go awry:

Install the drivers - if it asks for a driver it may hang the process until the driver is done and cause an error, install the driver and try again, you will have to install several of them so just keep going till there done, Often you will have to reboot the phone between each new driver.

Disconnect the Phone - If RSD Lite says the flash succeeded and your strugling trying to get it powered up while installing drivers, disconnect the cable, let the phone boot up properly then plug it in to play with it.

Try a different port - alot of users have stated that changing the USB port they have there phone plugged into helps, this is most likely because windows will reinstall all the drivers.

You don’t need to put the phone in MBM mode as RSD will automatically re-boot the phone and select MBM, try and you will see.

hmm.. i decided to flash the phone... Seems i am stuck someone.. I flashed it and when it says to manually restart the phone.. i do whats stated above.. But it never says complete.. ive tried doing it a couple of times and nothing.. I have done the usb port thing and nothing.. the phone looks fine and acts normal... it even says i have 46p in it.. So should i just ignore it? Everything else during the flash was a success.. what do you guys think?

Here is the test. Call and leave yourself a VM. If there is no blank text....then all is well.

I've had the same thing happen with my V3X before too when I MP'd it. Works just fine.

Could someone help me with where I can find RSD Lite 2.7? I see version 2.6 in the download section but not 2.7. Is this something I have to buy from motorola?... Thanks!

I used RSDLite 2.5 to upgrade to 46p on my phone, worked like a charm.
