voice recognition/voice dialing help please

im using a chinamobile branded a1200 with 44p firmware but i cant load up the voice recog app, or use voice dialing, when i press the button on side and hold it down it goes right into record, or if i click it nothing happens anyone know if this is disabled for me? and if it is how can i turn it on or get it? i looked everywhere on the phone and i dont see any voice app, thx for your guys help!

Do you have the list of voice commands in the setup menu? Have you tried using the headset or a bluetooth headset to see if it works using that? Thats very strange.. I spoke to someone else who asked me for help because his phone didnt come with vr... Very strange.. Where did you buy yours..

yes i did even with bt(H3) i still cant voicedial, but when i pair the h3 to my sisters SE phone voice dial works.

i looked in the voice commands menu and its empty, including the help information list is empty, i have the Talking phone on checked off as well.

im using the 44p firmware, and its the china mobile branded phone my friend picked up in shanghai, came in a box well actually too boxes black and white i can take pics if you wanna see everything.

I just find it wierd.. I have only known one person who doesnt have voice commands. Well lucky for you generic 46p is going to be released very soon. So that will solve your missing VC problem!

you need to go to setup -> language. Then, change the value from "automatic" to "english".
Then you'll have voice recognition
I have the same problem the first time I get the A1200 (china mobile branded too)

so this may sound a little insignificant, but at work today i picked up my ming and pressed the voice recognition button to turn the backlight on. well i guess i pressed it too many times and the phone kept repeating "please say a command or name" loudly while everyone else was working. i was wondering if there was a way to end this action quickly in case of an accident like this.

pressing the end button just goes to the homescreen.
