HELP: My A1200 Keeps "losing" and "refreshin

Hello everybody,

Ever since I got my A1200 a few weeks ago and paired it with my H500 bluetooth headset, I would hear a beep every few minutes or so on the headset. This happens a lot when I am moving in a car, and occasionally when I am just sitting at my desk.

Initially, I thought it was just the bluetooth reconnecting so I didn't give it much thought. However, I had my flip-cover opened when this happened today and realized that this beep was occuring when the signal strength of the phone completely diminishes and 'refreshes' (the phone seems to log-off and re-register on the network). This beep was the warning tone for a complete loss of reception on the phone. The bars would go down to zero, and the name of the service provider would dissapear for a few seconds. If I am in a area with good reception, the bars would go back to full strength after the few second 'refresh'.

I did notice however, that ever since I got the phone the reception bars would ocasionally go down to zero and 'refresh' when a call ends (except then I wouldn't hear the beep on the headset).

Trying to experiment, I turned off the headset and got in my car and drove around. I had the flip-cover open to view the screen, and discovered that the phone would lose connection and refresh every 5 - 10 minutes...

I am very concerned that there may be something wrong with the reception on my A1200. I was wondering if anybody else is experiencing a similar phenomenom. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I think I might have the same problem with mine. Not sure tho, it maybe that I just have poor reception in my area. But I have noticed my bars refreshing. Another funny thing is I have T-Mobile but it always says cingular on screen no matter where i go

For me is a little different. I also has T-Mobile but and also said Cingular. But I did say T-Mobile on my phone for about a week. After I turn off and back on, it said Cingular now. Really weird. But so far I have no problme with the phone. I havent hear any beeping sound. Also hear that beep sound when I talk on the phone and have the Record on. It beep every minue.

My phone have same issue. I guess this problem was caused by RF paramater which is stored in NVRAM. these RF paramater are come from RF calibration that is the last process of manufacture. but i don't know how to deal with. anyboby konws?

What does RF parameter mean and what does it imply?

In my opinion, RF parameter is key parameter to adjust the PA's(power amplifier) TX/RX power. there maybe have a protocol between Base station and Mobile phone. but i'm don't konw the detail of these.

Do all of you still have the problem? Or have you found a way to fix it?

Mine does this too. It just varies, because I know what area's are
"dead" and which are good. But yes, mine does do the recption dance too.

Well i have caught the "cold" as well... but i think mine is worse..
Heres the thing, my ming has no signal what so ever.. No where will it pick up anything.. it just keeps searching and saying register.... then goes back to searching... I am very worried... I used the phone just fine while i was away at california.. worked like a charm, Any ideas? Please help .... i miss my A1200!! im stuck using a v3 for the moment...

Have you tried "power cycling" your phone? Turn it off...remove the battery...leave it alone for about 30 seconds...pop the battery back in and see if anything changes.
