Ming as USB Modem - Connects but cannot browse

Hi,

Sorry if this has already been answered somewhere else - please guide me to the relevant location/thread if so.

I installed MPT 4.5 on Win XP with SP3 to use the A1200 as a Modem. I am based in Mumbai and I am using Idea connection. I can browse well using the phone. MPT installs nicely and I can communicate with the mobile, read SMS and SIM entries. When I try to connect to the Internet, the modem status shows Connected and ready, but I cannot browse anything using internet explorer. I tried making the Idea connection as the default connectivity option (in IE Tools->Connection) but still no result. I am otherwise using wireless internet (i.e. DSL connection with a wireless router) and diable the wireless mode while trying out the A1200 as a modem.

Any help would be highly appreciated.
