Once I realise its acting up I usually call my messenger service, switch to hands free and then switch off hands free. This method work for me for now![]()

Sometimes the speaker connector is loose.
See the dis-assembly sticky. Especially the removal of the connector in this image:

Hi Linny,
There is a three reason of your speaker problem
1. Loosing of Spk Assembely(Speaker Cable)
2. Speaker Connector Faulty( which is on main board where the speaker cable is connected).
3. Speaker Faulty( which comes with filp(transperate) housing.)
Solution:-
1. Re plug your speaker cable if you think its loose.
2. If speaker connector is faulty then pls go to nearly Service center because this connector is soldered at main board.
3. Morever if you found your speaker is faulty then you have to replace you filp housing(with speaker).
Regards
Hello all you Ming Gurus!
I recently rebuilt my Ming a1200 with a case I bought on ebay. I had to transfer the spring hinge from my old flip cover/earpiece, and it works well but I have a problem with the phone.
When I open the flip, nothing happens, in other words normally you would open the flip and the screen would activate, but it doesn't. Also when I close the flip the screen does not change back to the closed screen view. Now when I open the phone it takes a tap on the screen or something to make it appear.
I did reinstall the thing into the old case and it works normally. I'm wondering if anyone knows what the mechanism is that activates the thing. My best guess is that there is a magnet in the original flip mechanism which is under a cover. Anyway will check it out tonight just wondered if anyone had insight into this kind of problem.
By the way I had bought two new cases, tried BOTH with the same problem so I think there is something I missed. Thanks so much!
UPDATE: I just used a magnet to switch the screen, with a magnet close it goes to the "closed screen" and then goes out, when I pull the magnet away it goes to the "opened screen". I'll pull the old flip apart tonight and see what's in there, I'm assuming there is a magnet. I noticed on the disassembly photos I found on this site that there was an additional section for removing the flip, it showed some white plastic part with a round metal thing on it and I believe that is the magnet.
Yes the magnet is actually the control part of the flip so you must use the magnet in new flip if you are replacing the flip because if the magnet is absent it will not work..... it is on the front-top-left side of the flip a small metal try to paste it with adhesive and exactly on same place and test it before you you completely assemble your ming...
hope this helps...

Luckily to get to the magnet you just have to pull the screws on the flip and then carefully close it and pull off the outer "chrome" part. I glued the magnet on and presto it works. Thanks for the reply! Glad I had it mostly figured out at that point anyway it make me feel better about myself etc etc..
