Found the good files? Already sent back the phone?
Say developer, but it's so hard!

I'm going to send the phone back. The guy I bought it from said during the last two weeks, he's had three people with the same problems with the A1200, but he's sold the A1200 without any problems before, so he's assuming it's a problem with the supplier where he gets his phones from, because he doesn't modify them before he sends them out.

I bought it on ebay, and the seller did have his own online mobile phone store as well as a 100% positive feedback with several hundred ratings. So, I got my phone thinking that it's worked out well for quite a few other people that bought an A1200 from him (according to the feedback they left), I should buy mine from him as well. A couple days before I received my phone, he had his first negative feedback over an A1200 having the same issues I'm having. I haven't left any feedback yet, since he's answered my concerns over the phone in a very timely manner and has been very polite. He's offered to give me a replacement for the phone or a refund, whichever I prefer.

So, I'm going to send it back in hopes of getting a working A1200 this time around, as he offered to check the new one to make sure it works before he sends it out.

Again, thanks for all the help you gave me, I wish it would've worked!

Ok, so we'll see maybe you next days
And, as a side note... If you found no fw to repair the network quality of your phone, that doesn't say no fw can't damage it ...
If you have good reception on your next A1200 ( hey, after motorola does generally good phones ), then i suggest you to never change the whole firmware... but only parts of it.
First, backup the flex before changing any bits in it...
Document you on linux, you can extract your AP firmware, and edit all the files you want, use yan0 mpkg unlock if you can't install software easily...change the language files, edit them... You can build a custom linux kernel, etc, etc... use another filesystem...
Do whatever you want, if you need , you can PM me or open a new thread... Here @ motorolafans ! .

Thanks Yeah, I only tried two other fw versions, because I didn't want to go off of the H2 track and risk not being able to flash back to the original fw. I never could get it to work properly. As soon as the seller receives the phone, he's going to send me a new one, which will probably take, 10 days at the most to get a phone there and back.

    Hello Swan3983,

Thank you so much for this post. I have been searching for over a week why my phone won't work. I have the exact same problem. I think we might have bought from the same ebay seller as well. Was it fangfang? I wrote to him requesting a refund.

No, the seller's name was not fangfang, but when I did send my phone back to get my refund, the person said he supposedly had it working by switching it to the 1900 band. I had already tried that before I even sent it back and it didn't work... so I never really found out what the problem was since I ended up just getting a refund instead of a replacement and bought a RAZR V3xx which I'm pretty happy with.

You and I both had the exact same problem. That's so odd. I'm going to be sending mine back for a refund also. Thank you once again
