Please help No VM alert

I have heard of people getting strange alerts and blank texts when they get voicemail, however i dont get any type of alerts. I have setup my voicemail number in service setup. But Im still not getting a visual or audible alert. I have to check my voicemail often because of this. Im using Amins EE II. All suggestions appreciated

How does this actually work? My voicemail number is 100 and when I have a voicemail my service provider sends me a text message from 100 which is just a normal text informing me. but if you set it up you can actually have the voicemail converted to a sms and sent to you - but I think that's silly. I suppose my service provider uses another method then since I don't get any 'special' notification.
