    Default Original Audio Files

    I don't remember this clearly, so please bear with me.

    When I bought my first MING, there were Chinese audio files on it used for ringtones. I know that I upgraded my firmware at least once since then. I currently have firmware "R532H2 G 11.20.08P" installed. The new firmware did not have the original audio files. What I would like to know is where I can get them or if one of the current firmwares for the original A1200 has them so that I can just install that firmware, copy them to the MicroSD before upgrading to the C2 track.

    Just as a side note, I broke my first MING. The touch screen had a crack going from top to bottem. I tried replacing the screen and ended up not having audio in the ear piece and not knowing how to install the screen, I was stuck without a touchscreen.

    I bought a new one several months later. Probably about 3 months after getting it, it started screwing up. It would just shut off when it pleased and sometimes not come back on. The battery meter would, for most of the time, have a red line going through it.

    So, I decided to take it apart and try replacing the main circut board of the new one with the old one. I was able to do it thanks to nodramachicks' tutorial on about to disassemble the MING.

    The main circut board of the new MING looked freak'n nasty. Half of the pieces of metal that were covering the chips fell off, they were also scratched. One of them was even dented. The old circut board was clean and scratchless (That MING went through hell at my last job at a metal fabrication shop).

    Anyways...after replacing everything, it worked. At first I thought it didn't because I turned the mobile on and it shut off right away. It was just that the battery wasn't all the way in. heh

    I know...that was completely off-topic. I couldn't help it, I had to boast lol. It's not an easy task when you have hands that constantly shake.

    @Dark X PSX

    Well, I am sure your new Ming was already used at the time when you bought it, even though the seller could have claimed otherwise... Misused, that's more like it! I'm glad you managed to carry out this.. umm... surgical operation with total success!

    If you find your old firmware somewhere on the Internet (look here at MotorolaFans first!) or any other one that does have these audio files, you don't need to flash your phone with it. You can use EZXCodec and other tools to split up the firmware file into its components, then extract the desired audio files from there.

    Thanks intermario gr, I'll see if any of the firmware that I currently have on my two hard drives have the old firmware with the audio files that I'm looking for.

    As for it being used...it would have surprised me. The inside looked like it was made from old parts or something. I am just happy to have it working.

    Iv posted a script in the scripting forum for extracting wallpaper and ringtones. Use it if you decide to flash anyway

    Thanks for the info Konig. I'll do what intermario gr recommended.

    I went ahead and updated the MING to Amin's Elite firmware, which is the same firmware the other MING had. I've noticed this one has much better performance then what the other MING did. The other one lagged when I installed the C2 firmware, so I was a bit worried about upgrading to the C2 track.
