Touch screen problem

After a long gap of 3 months i switched on my a1200.I found that the touch screen is acting bit wierd.When i touch an icon on the left side of the screen the right side icons get selected.when i draw an imaginary diagonal line from top left corner to bottom right corner,its like only the upper half of the screen is working
Is it a hardware problem or a software problem
Pls give me a solution
Does flashing help..

the 1st thing you should do is calibrate your screen in the setup menu....after you do this, post your results.
