a1200 t-mobile sms/mms problems

I'm having problems sending and receiving messages. I keep getting a message "error when trying to save the mms" when sending or receiving. Sometimes my phone doesn't allow me to send simple sms messages. I've already cleared all the messages I had in the inbox because I thought it was too full. Please help.
