    Default SDIO WiFi

I'd like to know, how much will you all pay for SDIO WiFi?

    Hi,

I write to check on the SDIO WiFi support on Mot phones? If not available yet,are people willing to pay for the support on a specific device? How many will be willing to pay? and how much?

I read the forums with great interest and I see that there is a lot of discussion going on SDIO WiFi support.I work for a commercial organization and it may be possible that I could take your inputs to try and discuss with my managers to provide a commercially viable solution?

    Cheers,
    Mukanu
    Hi,

Firstly, sorry for the late reply as I was overseas with no internet nor wap connections.

Sure we could always work together on getting SDIO support on Mot phones, and even WM phones like Moto Q is in need of it.

We can very well sell it commercially on MotorolaFans.com etc, but the viability of it working is very hazy and I need plans and proof of it being able to work.

    Thanks.
    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

We can provide a legitimate binary WiFi driver support on models running Linux initially and WM subsequently. It would be fully tested driver for a specific WLAN card on a specific kernel version.

The Binary driver would be charged per user. What type of pricing would work? Would a fee of $50 - $75 / user work? How many members would be interested? Based on this,I can take it up with my manager to discuss the commercial viability/model and come back to you.

    Thanks.
    My favorite Motorola development site!

I think it will be a more likely scenario for the E6, considering that it supports an actual SD slot.

Worthless, low power. You would have to sit withing 10 - 20ft of the wireless router. The ideal solution for the A1200 would be a micro usb connection to a portable Wifi device with its own power supply allowing it to be High Power with better range to multiple wireless routers. Of coarse someone would have to develop a Linux program to make use of the external wifi through micro usb.
