Real Player Questions

I just got a Ming from my dad and I am having trouble grasping the real player. Is there any way to just open the entire library and play all the songs? Whenever I open the library you can only select and add, then it says there isn't sufficient space to add all files, hence I am left listening to a small playlist.

RP that comes with our MING has a limit on the no of songs that can be added to the playlist. I don't remember the count exactly but its definitely less than 100.

It can easily be changed by editing the config file. Just search on lines of increase realplayer limit or something like that and u are bound to hit the thread. Happy searching!!!

To be honest, the best/easiest way is just to flash it to a newer fw. I've had that problem before but then I flashed it to the EE fw and it loaded no problem.

The only thing is the sound quality is very poor...eg: when you close the lid while the RP is running, it will say 44/192kps? Is there a way to make RP plays music at it's origional quality??

@fsjon: what do you mean play by it's original quality? 44/192kbps has good sound quality but it is advised to convert it to 96kbps which was as good sound as 128kbps compression, and you will save more space for about 30% less kbps from 128kbps compression ^^

@tcooke: welcome! pls read about flashing to a new FW and understand it before flashing (know your track if it is C2 or on H2 tract). many users like me is fond of C2 track and we flash it with amin's FW such as EE2. i have my own mod of amin's remix which is as good as EE. try to read more before flashing.. goodluck

Oh, I thought it means it is only playing at 44kps while the file is at 192kps. I'm still very new to this, so I'm not too sure on how everything works. I'll search the forum to see how to convert the file to 96kps, and see if it sounds better. As of now, all music file plays on RP sounds terrible...but that could also cause of the headphones.

I've tried using emmx player as well, but everytime there is bass in the song, it sounded like my headphones were blown??

maybe your headset has problems.. my sounds in my headphone was superb (with foam, it increases the sound quality, it compresses all sounds and the bass into your ear)

the 96kbps thing was 44Hz / 96kbps (in my exp, 3min song in 96kbps was only 2mb in size / while in your 192 kbps is about 5mb, it saves more)

The bass part distorting is probably due to exmms. That software drives the phone's audio amplifier to much beyond the specified 0db level, resulting in audio clipping and consequent distortion. And then, it ends up affecting the rest of the phone as well.

Here's what to do:
1. Make sure the options thing, the overall sound level or something doesnt exceed 80
2. In the equalizer, the leftmost meter should be only very minimally above the 0 line.
3. Pump up as much you want of the actual volume control.

Thanks!! It sounds awsome now. Right after I flashed to EE, I've immediately installed exmms and found it sound horrible. After I've set it to min. in the equalizer, everything sounds fine in RP. I couldn't complain about the bass level since this phone nor it's headset is music orientated.

Although, I do not understand about the sound level option...where do I go to access that?

about headset thing... how can i use other headset without the mic? is there a hack for it?
