    Default New Firmware & Reset

I'm selling my A1200 on ebay, and am including a bunch of instructions for the new owner so he knows how to use things like package app installers, themes, etc.

    But I was wondering...
I changed my phone's firmware from

    R541_G_11.56.09R

    to

    R541_G_11.56.14R

What happens if for whatever reason, he needs to reset the phone?

    What would happen?

Would it go back to the newer frimware or revert to the older, original fw that came with the phone?

Or would it screw up the phone completely?

Is it OK to use the reset feature now that the fw has been modified?

    Thanks!

i think its ok cuz the main firmware has been changed so resetting your phone would just lead to reset the features of the current firmware only..

    Motorola A1200 on Custom built.

    You sure about that...?
Not that it matters really, won't be my phone for long anyway. I'd just like to inform the guy buying it so he knows.
    Cuz I certainly don't.
    LOL!

if you reset of master clear it will go to your NEW Firmware defaults. the OLD firmware has been completely overwritten and no longer exists

    @nodramachicks

Thanks buddy. Datz da solid, straightforward answer I wuz looking for and I always trust you expertise.

I'm sellin' out and getting an iPhone 3G.
I absolutely HATE Apple, loath iPods and DESPISE Macs...
(Well... not really... just the snobby, arses who use them and rave about them like they were the end all & be all.)

But both my son and daughter have one, and I gotta say...
    they're pretty sweet.
My son-in-law "jailbroke" his (hacked), and has all sorts of cool customizations, and aps and stuff for it.
The screen resolution & display can't be beat, and all the little hard-to-find stuff that I can't get for my Ming (or that I just found crappy tolerable versions of) are all available on the iphone, and most are free.
Like internet radio players, banking tools, games, and a wealth of other stuff.

And the Ming's screen was just a bit too small for me to do web browsing and stuff, and the keyboard input with the stylus just got old real fast for me.
But I still do LOVE it tho.
And it is a really pretty phone.
(I've only had mine a few months but it's in mint condition.)

If I had my way... I'd get a new Android or especially an HTC Touch Diamond. But I already have 3 bidders on my Ming and will sell it tommorrow, and the Diamond is a bit out of my price range right now, and not available on my carrier. AT&T.

I really like the iPhone. (even tho I do hate Apple)
Not crazy about the sms text thing on it, but I can live without it.

And for right now... it suits all my needs.

    Anyhoo... thanks guys!
