Looks like that's the speaker indeed. If you look carefully, you can see the lines on both sides, they join and attach to the speaker at the top. Very stylish. This might just become my new phone

Also, I'd like to see WiFi in this phone _very_ much.

Some *unofficial* spec from the net

    http://phone.younet.com/files/15/15817.html

Though it is in Chinese, I think most of the web translator handles it quite well.

I hope (and sort of assume) the "8MB Memory" is a typo.

    I want a red one

    another *unofficial* spec shows
    it has 8mb internal memory.

What about the data type of Class 10? There is no EDGE or 3G on this phone?

    man I really want one!!!

from the fcc specs ( http://phonearena.com/htmls/FCC-show...cle-a_908.html ) it looks like its got EDGE, but unlike the 780, only tri-band.

as long as the primary consumer of Mot phones are the service providers, i'd be supprised to ever see WiFi; it just leads to the Voip option which cuts into the pockets of the service providers. its probably more likely that the hardware guys get the usb-hosting working for WiFi access, or that someone gets SDIO Wifi working (but only for the SD-based e680/i) than Mot actually including WiFi in a cell phone.

from the pictures of the apps, it looks very similar to the EZX stuff on e680i/a780 so hopefully the kernel, and all the stuff developed for our e680i/a780, will remain the same.

    when can we get one???????

ohh, i just found this link: http://tuxtops.com/node/474 and it leads to the preliminary copy of the instruction manual that Mot had to submit for fcc approval; i'm reading through the manual now and drooling....

from the figures illustrating the apps it looks very similar to e680i/a780 stuff and (at least the pictures show it) apprantly supports GPRS/EDGE, AGPS as well as icons in for IM alerts. it also apparantly has a business card reader but in the manual it says "Text to come!"

most of the built in apps look identical so i'm really hoping that it will be kernel and ezx lib compatible w/ a780/e680i. and to think i was just about to buy up a couple of e680i's and a780's before Mot dropped the whole linux/ezx line altogether - and here they're makeing it even better!
