Good post and looks gr8, so much hard work for doing this is really appreciable, after all no one wants to take risk on the handset, and patience to write this full instructions is very much appreciated

I replaced the housing on my phone tonight, but after changing out the flip cover, the phone no longer detects the opening and closing of the flip. It functions as if the flip were open regardless of whether it is open or closed, and the functions executed by the flip, like call answer/end, don't work. Any thoughts on where I went wrong?
Your hunch was spot on. The new cover I received didn't have a magnet inside, but I had never opened it to see. I put one of the tiny screws up to it from the old cover, and it didn't stick, so I was able to use the magnet from the old cover and everything is just peachy now!
Muchas gracias!

Thank you man, usefull info...
Thanks everyone! it took me two hours to remove the old case including the transparent flip. I had to desolder the wires of the flip as teh new one did not come with the flat cable mounted in it.
Easy to do if you have been pulling things apart a lot. A little tough if you havent been. Follow the instructions given here.. there are no surprises.
