Q: What does Epgprs/gprs do?

I had in aissue with my A1200E... I had the EGPRS/GPRS option enabled and it was killing my battery.
I turned that option off and now my battery is working fine but I still do not know

What is the EGPRS/GPRS? and what does it do?

GPRS is your data connection, and EGPRS would be EDGE, its a bit faster, if you turn this off, im guessing you wont be able to use your browser.

Thanks.. nice to know... anyway by now my internet connection has not already been set up with movistar so I do not care very much but is god to know the things my phone has
