    Default Q: Got my a1200 today - what model is it?

    got my a1200 in the mail today. can someone help me figure out if i have the good model or not? i know theres probably a post on how to figure it out, but i gotta figure out the search thing first.

    also everything seems to be in japanese or chinese. can someone direct me on how to change this?

    take a look @ the FAQ and the guide to modding, they will help u figure out most stuff

    i believe from checking out my phone box i have the a1200r.

    the box wont say, take the battery cover off and look @ the white sticker...it will sa a1200/a1200r/a1200e/a1200i

    phone sticker says

    GSM (some japanese symbol) then A1200r

    its the firmware .25p i just figured out also. however there was no motorola phone tools disc in my phone box so im a little upset. anyone know where i can get this disc from or am i basically screwed now?

    if your going to flash, i'd probably recommend flashing to Mischka's 24xp30 EMEA version it appears to be the best C2 track firmware and with a few additions it should be GREAT! take a look at the C2 monsterpack section in the guide to firmware and flashing for a list of features, step by step instructions on how to flash, AND a link to the firmware file. as for motorola phone tools, you can download it from HERE

    Please take the time to search in the stickies at the top of the forum before posting questions to save people having to answer the same questions over and over. There is a whole section on MPT with links to the software in the FAQ sticky.

    i figured it out. im not used to forums. sorry for not having the instant knowledge of this website instantly. next time i'll make sure i'm all knowing before i ask a question. oh wait, if im all knowing i wont have to ask any questions... hmmm.... dilema...
