Q: How do I install MPKG on A1200E?

Hello everyone, I first want to say that you all are some of the smartest people I have come across in my lifetime.

I have the MotoMing A1200e, I have only had it for about a week and I have just about ran myself crazy. I have been reading and and downloading for the past 3 days and I still don't have this damn phone setup.

I don't understand the MPKG, the Superman thing, etc. When I add these things I can't open them, I always get an "Invalid Application File" this happens on everything I do.

This is what I need:

I need to transfigure my phone so I can send picture mail and get on the internet. My provider is T-Mobile, they don't have clue to what I need.

Add ring tones using the mini SD

If possible add the IPhone skin by TWUIK.

If there is anyone that could help me I need you. I'll send you my phone if need be. Even willing to pay if I must.

I need someone out there to help me fast before I really go mad from reading this damn computer screen for 4 more days.

First of all WELCOME to the Forum AND the MING! Once you get a few things down you'll have a blast with your new phone!

First off, theres NO NEED to send your phone to or pay anyone to help you, that's what we're all here for!

MPKG/superman/smart assistant etc are not programs that you OPEN, they are utilities that you use to open and install OTHER programs. .pkg files etc see section B & C in THIS LINK

for t-mobile configuration please refer to section 6 of THIS LINK and you can also use the following settings from THIS LINK ,

To get ringtones and any other files copied to your SD card look in section A HERE

and for your theme installation take a look at section F HERE...... all of these links give you specific instructions to do the things that you want to do, SLOW DOWN do one of them at a time and ask questions if you get stuck on any particular task, you'll get LOT's of support from the community and find out ALL kinds of things your phone can do!! Also you'll get better response here than your personal email, more people will see what you are doing or have tried and will be better able to help you.

Also be aware that MPKG, Superman and Smart Asst do not run on a lot of the A1200E firmwares. You do not state what firmware you have - but find out what it is and then look in Guide to Firmware stciky at top of forum for the info on your specific version and what runs on it. Same sticky tells you how to find out your fw version.

I had the MMS set up but now it's not sending again, what must I do.

I tried to do the superman, TMPKG, RAR, etc but nothing works. I give up, maybe I can find a local shop or something to set my Ming up the way I want it.

If someone could help me to just get the MMS back so I can send pictures and video I'll be find for now.

I have a question for you or "kiwiguy" , do you all know of anyone that I could send my phone to that would be able to make the adjustment that I seek?

I want that IPhone skin thats on YouTube, I would the volume to be louder, and everything else I think I could do myself.

it REALLY isn't that difficult to do what you are looking to do, if you look at THIS THREAD you'll find step by step instructions AND the file that you need to install to be able to EASILY change your theme. if you have ANY trouble doing it, i'll be happy to walk you thru it step by step, either by pm, IM, or phone if necessary. THIS THREAD has the UPDATED info on increasing volume (VOLSET5)), it is also VERY easy to do, both will take you LESS time and effort to do YOURSELF than to send your phone to and pay someone to do for you AND you will know how to do other mods as a result.

Hey friends, I have tried again to get the MPKG to download to my phone and still nothing. I'm not sure what my Firmware is, not sure where to look. I'm not sure if I'm doing it right or if I'm looking a the wrong treads. Can somebody help me, I need hands on help, AIM, Yahoo IM, MSN Messenger what ever or even phone.

I can't do anything else because this damn phone is my mind all day, even at work...dang.
