Hi guys, I've been having some trouble in finding a version of MPKG that's compatible with my fw, which is 43P (R532_G_11.00.43P)

To clarify. I copied the .system folder the MPKG icon appears in the App menu, then I associated .pkg to MPKG in MyFav file manager, but when I try to install a .pkg nothing happens.

I read the Guide to Modding sticky and there's no mention that 43P is incompatible with MPKG.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

Thanks, I did that too but still nothing, not even an error message

In my original post I said that I associated .pkg to MPKG. That's the same as tap and hold on the pkg file and then open with mpkg installer. In Windows speak

Wait.. flashing isn't a solution to everything. These are simple problems which should have simpler solutions.

Try using other installers for a start. See if that helps.

    Too late !!
    Flashed to marcolnx's Hybrid e16Xr_a1200ER.

I tried every installer I could lay my hands on but nothing worked. I really wanted to avoid flashing but as it turned out I'm GLAD I DID.
Not only can I install many of the excellent apps, but the ming is way more responsive then before. Absolutely amazed !!

Ah, that's good for you. Of course, i support the idea of flashing. I have flashed my own phone over 20 times now.

I just dont like the idea of proposing "flashing" as a solution to every small problem out there. That's like asking somebody to reinstall Windows on their comp every other day.

Enjoy your new f/w. Hope you have been through all the A1200 stickies. Give you a lot of info about you phone, and some wonderful software to run on it. Also take time off to visit the E6 section. They are pretty much compatible on every aspect other than the firmware part.

I've read some of the stickies, the guide to flashing was invaluable. There so much stuff here that will keep me busy for quite some time.

I do agree that flashing isn't the answer to every problem, that's for sure. Just because I had a good experience doesn't mean I'd recommend other noobs to do the same. I did a lot of research before deciding to flash the ming.
