this phone is gonna fu**ing RIPP!!!
I bought a Motoming for my girlfriend over a year go and she absolutely loves it. I recently discovered MotorolaFans and am very appreciative to all the people that have taken the time to spell out how to improve the functionality of this phone. I am intrigued by upgrading firmware but don't have the balls to do it in fear of loosing mine if I brick it.
Anyhow, I stumbled across the Motorola ming 2 the a1600 and due to the fact that there is little discussion on it thus far I thought I would get the ball rolling. For those that haven't heard about it yet it is the successor of the ming a1200. It sports built in WIFI, a upgraded camera 3.2MP with auto focus and LED flash, and built in AGPS (assisted GPS, which means it uses the cell towers, triangulating the signals to pinpoint your position like with satellites, it is usefully in areas where the satellites might be blocked out by electronic interference or tall buildings, as in a downtown setting). It was stated for a February 08 debut, but according to http://www.intomobile.com/2007/12/18...n-q2-2007.html "Bill Chen, General Manager of Motorola Taiwan’s Mobile Device business has confirmed that the next-gen MOTOMING will be hitting the mainstream later than expected" and apparently we wont be seeing it till Q2 2008.

this phone is gonna fu**ing RIPP!!!
This supposed successor to the A1200 has actually been discussed quite a few times previously starting back in early December - see this thread for one such discussion.
Many people believe these images have been photoshopped and this whole "MotoMing 2" is a fake news release. So I would not hold my breathe waiting for it!

Based on CES 2008, Motorola seems more interested in the E series with the announcement of the E8. You can check out this link http://ces.cnet.com/8301-13855_1-9847336-67.html
