Q: Can we get Smart Movie app working on A1200?

I use to have Nokia n80 , then i upgraded to Moto ming , i think motorola rocks specially MING ,
the only thing that i have had on my nokia and i realy miss it in my ming is smart movie soft, i think zmPlayer sucks (versus smart movie) this is what im speaking about :

I also used SmartMovie on my Symbian phone, and yes, it was great, but it is only available on real OSes. And it can't be converted unless its makers want to do that, which they dont't, because no one wants to pay to use Linux sofware.

Our great phone has only one barely decent movie player, so we have to stick with it.

zMPlayer have some arm optimization in the core and only a smart, full experience, and talented person can do that. It is amazing open source and the best application for EZX so far. We have the best crosstool working on E680, E680i/g, A780, E2, A1200, E6 because of zMPlayer and mkezx. Big big thanks to zMPlayer author, mkezx and OpenEZX project, including all people behind EZX application. Happy hacking

Not to mention, that in my opinion SmartMovie is a GPL violation, it uses the GPL'ed Xvid codec and no source code is available.

The "external (module || plugin || codec)" trick is used by Lonely Cat, and by other companies that STEAL the work from the FOSS community.

I dont support companies that steal free software and sells it to "less informed" people. SmartMovie and LonelyCat are shit.

That makes no sense. The codec is not installed with the player. I don't see a problem with selling the player and distributing the codec, even desktop OSes work like that. Just because I can watch XVid on Media Player or PowerDVD doesn't mean they are violating anything.
