Default Discussion: Motorola A1200 Successor. A1600

MotoMing A1200 smartphone has been quite popular handset in Chinese market. But it’s been over 18 months since this phone was introduced and it’s time to make it better.

    Enter Motorola A1600 MOTOMING 2.

Just like with the next generation of it’s popular RAZR 2 series, Moto Ming A1600 will not have any radical design departures. Just some design tweaks, better and faster chips/components for better overall specs.

Motorola Ming 2 A1600 specs include:
Quad band GSM (850/900/1800/1900), GPRS connectivity
    Faster CPU
    Linux OS
3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flashlight
    Wi-Fi connectivity
    Built-in AGPS receiver
    17.5 mm thin
    Talking dictionary
3 built in games (skiing, bowling and racing 3D games)

According to Chinese site Enet it will be launched next February (probably during 3 GSM show).

Cause that would be a slightly harder Photoshop work.
I completely agree with you, I want an official note and lay my eyes on it.
So far, looks like a fake.

Motorola needs a successor to the Ming, now that EZX is "deprecated" and the A1200 is a success not only in China, but all over the world.

The specs are a mild update from the original Ming. The Wi-Fi is a welcome addition, now that we know that MOTOMAGX supports it (see http://eng.mobiset.ru/articles/text/?id=40 ), but the lack of EDGE and 3G isn't good. Motorola should launch this A1600 as a "3G+Wi-Fi Ming", its first Linux 3G phone. (Yes, I know, there won't be 3G in China for still some more time...)

Yes, the photos look like sketches, I only believe in blurry cameraphone pics. For the Chinese, if you find one of these, please take a cameraphone photo and send us

How are we supposed to open the USB port? With a knife?

Anyway, even if it was real (and I doubt it is), I wouldn't buy it because it doesn't solve most of the issues I have with the current Ming.

I found the same pictures on a Taiwanese forum, which mentions the CPU would be upgraded from ARM9 to ARM11..420HZ.
