Q: How do I create Startup.txt to run Apps at Startup?

How do I make an app run automatically at startup?

If I am not mistaken, I guess this requires a file named startup1.txt (or is it startup.txt?) in the root of the TF card. I am on 08p which I think supports running apps at startup since there is a file named startup1.txt in the root of the TF card but I don't know what code has to be written in startup1.txt to make an app run automatically at startup. Can someone please help me out with this?

I went through various posts in this forum on this topic but none of them helped me.

See this thread for a detailed discussion of how to get an app (in this case the clock) start up automatically at startup. It has example of code you have to use.

Some thigs to note:

• Whether the file is called startup.txt or startup1.txt depends on your firmware - I do not have a list of what works on what firmware - so you will have to try both.
• This may only work if you have one of the modified firmwares installed - it may not work on generic firmware - as looking for a startup file to execute on bootup was added by the writers of the monsterpacks.

Kiwiguy, if I am not mistaken, I believe you are referring to PaulF's thread #10. I have already tried that but it doesn't work on my 08p FW (A1200). What PaulF suggested, that might be for E6 though I am not sure about it.

In fact, I came across this thread at http://www.motorolafans.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=11993 which involves partial flashing A1200 to run apps at startup. I did the partial flash & it does run apps at startup but I undid the partial flash because of a couple of petty problems about which I have mentioned in http://www.motorolafans.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=15459.

Can you please help me resolve the 2 problems? I don't mind partial flashing again if I get a solution to resolve those 2 petty issues.

Moreover after partial flashing, I don't know why PKG apps refuse to install when I try to install them using MPKG (about which I have mentioned in http://www.motorolafans.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=15445) but that's not a major issue since I can install PKG apps using SmartAssistant. Strangely SmartAssistant refuses to install VolumeUp.pkg (to increase the volume of the loudspeaker). When I tap VolumeUp.pkg, SmartAsistant first asks me whether I would like to install VolumeUp or not. When I click Yes, after around 15 seconds, SmartAssistant generates a message saying Non standard MPKG form!
