You do not need to flash your phone to improve the volume. There is a very simple script that you can run that will do it. Read the Guide to Modding sticky at top of forum for the script. This sticky was written for new users so they can have good instructions on how to easily perform some of the main fixes and mods.

There is also another nice package to increase the volume of the phone in:

The package has a touchscreen interface and worked well.
