A simple app to remove the security restrictions of all installed JAVA applications by hacking the registry.txt file.
    Install with yan0's MPKG.

thanks for the app, however it doesn't seem to work on google maps, gmail app or opera mini (nor does editing the registry.txt file remove the permission restriction...any ideas)

To begin, i noticed in that in the thread it said the app would only work on java applications installed to the SD card so double check that first.
Also I'm not entirely sure because I use an A780, but you may need to overwrite the permfile.txt (permissions file) in each of your Java app folders (it's located within the same folder as the registry.txt) with a permfile.txt taken from a pre-installed app. To do this you'll need to go to the folder containing pre-installed Java apps (i.e. the built in games). On the A780 this folder is located at /diska/.system/java/SystemApps. This folder contains individual folders for each pre-installed game and/or application. Open one of these folders and copy the permfile.txt into the folder (on your SD card) containing the Java application whose permissions you wish to modify.
    Hope this helps.

definately installed on the MMC, looked for permfile.txt but it doesn't seem to exist in the .system file nor anywhere else i've looked (mighjt it be A780 specific?)
    Chiron.Bloch likes this.

  4. Default a couple of ideas

It very well may be A780 specific.
    Try this:
Open the registry.txt file of one of your Java apps and see if there is a line like this:
    Perm-Path:/mmc/mmca1/.system/java/DownloadApps/MIDlet20002/permfile.txt
If this string is present then permfiles are being used.

If this turns out to be the case then all that remains is to determine the location of your preinstalled Java apps (if any).
I assume that the A1200 ships with a few games or something so hopefully this will work.

If you can determine the location of the preinstalled apps then open one of the registry.txt files and check out the "Perm-Path:" string, it should point you to the permfile.txt. If you copy this file over the permfile.txt of an app on your SD card (dont forget to make a backup of the original) it may unlock the permissions.

    Also:
This may be a stupid question, but did you manually change the app's access permissions in the phone's menu system?
The A780 Firmware i have doesnt have this feature, but I have read about it on the forum.
It likely requires pressing and holding the stylus on the application icon until the context menu appears. Hopefully one of the option is "Permissions" otherwise check in "Properties" (or whatever is similar).

    Hope some of this helps.
