i posted the same query few weeks ago. i got a solution to switch rapidly b/w loudspeaker and back while in a call. it works at times. ear phone starts responding but after a few hours, same problem !!!

i tried flashing, master reset, master clear and even RPCD ..

the phone's out of warranty now.
shall i visit moto store or there is some solution ????

WOW! RPCD didn't solve your problem? interesting....i might need to come up with revised procedures!

here's what I found out on my phone guys and gals. I noticed that if I pushed in the little ear piece back into the phone I could hear. But once I left off any pressure to the little ear piece the sound will start to go away. The glue that holds the ear piece isn't so good. I then popped open the motorola cover in the front of the phone where the head piece is in the front and notice that the two wires connecting to the ear piece was broken off. Don't know why or how it came off.

I then resolder the wires together and it worked just fine. But when the glue came undone again, it will pull the wires off of the ear piece. The wires aren't very long at all.

My solution is to replace the whole head piece. Anyone know where I can get one?

@jimy, you mean to change the whole flip ?! or just the ear phone??

i went to local non motorola shop here in India. he said he'll charge rs.300 to repair it, though he dint told me the actual problem.
but as you say, if the problem is that serious, he wouldn't agree to repair it that economical.

i dint got it repaired yet, but 'll get it done soon..

The whole flip will have to be changed out. I don't think you can repair just the ear piece. The two wires in the clear glass is to short to solder back together. It doesn't look too difficult to replace. I also checked and messaged some ebay sellers about their kits. Seems like you can get whole new color scheme along with the head piece for under $25 us currency shipped.

    :O

well i'll go to the local dealer. he said he'll charge 300 bucks only. upon bargaining he may even make it 250. so in any case, its more economical to me then to order a new flip

another issue i wanted to highlight is ear phone works when during a call you switch to loudspeaker and back 2-3 times.
i mean while in a call, turn on loudspeaker and back to headset and repeat it 2-3 times, and the ear phone starts responding. it'll respond if you disconnect the call and try to use it again within 3-4 hours. but after 4 hours, its creates problems again

i wished to know if its because of a defective glue or broken wires, how could using loudspeaker make it work?!?? considering my point, i've always believed its a software issue and not related to hardware..
what would you say about that ??
