Q: Can I flash E6 firmware to my ming?

Actualy the way the hybrid f/w was created for the E6 (the one with VR) was by first flashing one of Yan0's A1200 modded f/w to the E6. it Actualy worked , only prob is the E6 has more hard keys then the A1200 , and the scrren lock feature is when you close the flip so keys were misplaced but the basic functions of the phone were workin perfect . I dont think the other way around would work for obvious reasons , but just to show you how E6 and ming are similars .

DAGr8 is right...they are extremely similar...

If you take a look at a theme for an E6 vs an A1200, you can kinda see why there would be issues. The E6 and the Ming do not have all of the same options and features...In fact, when you make a theme for one, it has to be reconfigured to work on the other.

Although the phones are similar...they are NOT the same. You should never flash any FW that is not specifically designed for your phone. You even have to be careful when you flash other version FW's made for other Mings.

But then that does kinda go towards g4m3rz question...WHY? They are extrememly similar. You wouldnt really gain much even if you could do this kinda thing.

What specifically is it you are seeking from the E6 that you are not getting on your Ming? Maybe there is a software or theme or something that can be loaded seperately to meet your need?

Anyone has flashed an A1200 with an E6 firmware? If yes, does it work correctly?

i was also curious at the beginning and tried many times using different e6 f/w for my A1200 it kind of worked but dint worked fully... Home GNB icon and VR button dint worked and there is problem in battery charging too...expect that everything worked properly inducing home screen ...
