Default Q: PC internet access thru A1200 with GPRS (AIRTEL)

    Hi Folks,

I activated airtel GPRS connection, and i iam able to browse the net in my motoming very well. The main concern is that when i connect ming to my PC to access the internet, the MOTOROLA PHONE TOOLS is showing the motoming image and below the signal strength a new message is indicating that "transmissions cancelled". Some days back I accessed internet in my PC thru my ming succesfully, but from fewdays im getting this weird situation.

Can anyone please gimme solution waht i need to do.

When i called the AIRTEL customcare they fools cannot interpret what im saying, te just saying that uninstalll n reinstall the motorola phone tools then u will be able to access the net.

I already did that so many times.

    This is the case folks....
Expecting ur valuable suggestions to comeout of this situation....

    Thanks,
    Kranthi (MOTO Luver)

As fas as i can remember Airtel has blocked the ports for web access through your PC..

I did read a hack to allow you to do that somewhere..

Although i moved form airtel and got a broadband connection so never faced this issue again..

    look around in esato.com

which data plan are you on..?? is it Mobile Office or Net on Phone.. ?

if its MO.. it should work fine.. there is no issue with a port block or anything..

follow these steps to create a new dialer.. (to accessing internet without MPT)
    1. Connect you phone to PC under modem mode..
    2. go to network settings > create a new connection
    3. follow the steps to create a new dialup connection
    4. put the number to dial as *99***2#
    5. leave the username and password fields blank
    6. make sure that you choose your phone from the list of available modems
    7. once you have the dialer, press connect..

let me know if you face the same issue again.

kyaa yaar Gamerz , kuch bhee bolrelaa hai. there is not even a romour about the port blocking or anything. I am airtel prepaid user and using MO (Mobile office) Rs.15 per day wala plan. And its working in full swing without any problem on PC and I have even posted basic settings and guide for Airtel, and MTNL GPRS access in this forum. Search Airtel Setting and you will find it. And yes no need to use MPT, only you need is Motorola Modem Driver and the method explained by DIGITALD bhaijaan.

And yes, its silly but worked, restart your pc and try using in different usb ports. There have been IRQ conflict issues with previous modem drivers on different usb ports, so worth trying. Or if you are experienced user, try changing COM port numbers from Control Panel, modem section manually. may help. post here your solution, if solved.

THE FREE WAP PORTAL AIRTEL-LIVE SERVICE WILL NOT ALLOW PC CONNECTION. ONLY PHONE BROWSING SERVICE AVAILABLE.

You can connect by right clicking the wireless indicator in your system tray
    Open network connections
select the dial up option for your ISP by double clicking
    select dial
    That should log you on
