  1. Default Discussion: Antivirus on A1200

    Hi ,
    I have few files named as "CTFMON.EXE" , "DESKTOP.ini" in recyle bin folder of transflash card memory. When i try to delete it, i am not able to do so. Can any one let me know is it Virus? And if so how can we remove the same. Do we have any anitivirus for Motoming?

    i think that means u use mass storage under windows, nothing to worrie i guess.

    don't worry buddy..
    Our phone is linux based so windows virus can't do any thing on it except when connected with a windows pc..
    just delete those file after disconnecting phone from pc.. and load a good antivirus on ur pc

    Thanks for the reply, but iam not able to delete the files.

    u are right. But after i get disconnected from windows, iam able to see the files and not able to delete it.

    they wouldn't be visible through windows (i.e., on PC) i'm sure
    even i had the same problem few days back ! solution is install a good antivirus on the PC n wen the phone is connected to it in mass storage mode, scan the phone's drive (i.e.,F or G drive ) for viruses..it may detect those undeletable files as 'virus' n u can delete them there itself but if nothin is detected it 'll atleast passivate those files n u'll be able to delete them on phone
    give a try

    arrrr ! how about formatting your pc harddisk and them memory card ? lolz. just kidding.

    There is a cool A1200 version of MobiExplorer (filemanager category) at this thread >> http://www.motorolafans.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=13368

    It works well on A1200 with touchscreen too. Its a Java application and shows all hidden files in your memory card. Try Deleting all unwanted
    files and folders with this. Somewhere there could be an option to change Read-Only and Hidden attributes of files and folders. Remove hidden or read-only attributes and try deleting. It must work.
