You read the stickies at least twice before flashing.
If your computer is not recognizing the phone( you mean RSD lite, isn't it?) you need to install Motorola PC drivers which is available at download section. This step is well explained in the flashing section stickies.
Before going to flashing, see that battery is fully charged. Keep the phone in charger for many hours.

Kathir - there are very clear step-by-step instructions on how to flash your phone in the Guide to Firmware and flashing sticky. Links to all the software you need is also included there. Take a deep breath; print off that whole Flashing section in the sticky and read through the whole thing carefully - then follow those steps. If there is an individual step that you get stuck on, these please feel free to ask for help - but the instructions are very detailed. It is pointless having people repeat little pieces of them here.

If you read the Guide to Modding sticky - you will also find out why your phone froze in the first place. This is why we provide these sticky's - to try to prevent people from bricking their phones.

PLEASE help me......My motoming shows the welcome screen then nothing happens and the phone hangs.....
I had many skins installed.....but I installed them using PSKN skin installer,.,.,,,

I have just purchased the phone....Its been only 1 month....please help...I dont want to loose my new phone....my parents are gonna kick my a**....please hurry...

ur phone is under warranty..so take it to the service tel sum story n get it set right
they would flash it witout any question..no probs
or if u know ur fw n like to solve it urself only solution is flashing back to the same fw or to one among its track

startup photo has been changed....and when the phone starts it gets hung at the WELCOME SCREEN of vista theme that I put...so wouldnt they ask why have I put this theme....
wat sort of story should I tell....plzz reply....and thanks....

oh ! bit screwed up situation ! i thought the bootup screen must be 'hello moto' one ! now they may charge u for its obvious that u have meddled wit it !
no worry do the flash urself ! if its successful well n good.. if its unsuccessful @least it may change the bootup screen to hellomoto one !
besides that there r people havin WORKIN phones wit incomplete flash so u may be able to boot ur phone again wit it [ further u can think of takin to service or try flashin again]! so its better than the worse so dont worry
but i tel u flashing as described in stickies is straight fwd process i.e., witout any absolutely anticipated problems..in my opinion about 10% may fail or even less !
patiently go through the flashin sticky, download all the needed things n wit a clear mind n good confidence go ahead wit it
i suggest u to flash wit the same fw as chances of success r very high but be patient

The problem again is that I didnt check which firmware I was on....isnt it possiible to flash without knowing the firmware of the phone.......and which firmware is the phone expected to show since I am from delhi.....I never chnaged the firmware....watever came from the company was present....
