try adding your carrier code (not country) to your contacts... ie. 0412-555.1234 been 0412 your carrier code
Hi all,
I really hope you can help me out. I have an unmodded A1200R (still haven't decided on which FW is better to upgrade to) and my original FW (53p) seems to be having problems identifying my contact's cel phone numbers when I receive a SMS message. For example, if I have a contact's cel number stored as 8932376, any incomming call from this number will be successfully identified and the name of the person will be displayed in the screen, nevertheless, if that same person sends me a SMS message the phone will not make a match between that person“s name and number. Now, the reason is clear, when my carrier forwards a call to my phone, the number ID is sent as 8932376, but with a SMS, it will send me the person's number as +5068932376 (+506 is my country code).
Some of you may be thinking by now... why don't you just save your contact's numbers with the +506 before them, and that way the OS will recognize it.....(I thought of that too) but, eeeggggggggg, you are wrong, cause that causes the phone not to make the match when getting an incomming call from this person. It seems like the only possible workaround is saving each cel phone number twice per contact (with and without the +506), but as you can imagine that would really be a pain in the a.. with a contact list of 300+.
Has any one had this problem with their MING? if so, have you found a solution to it? Is there a way of telling the phone to append this prefix to each number before making the comparison against my contact list? Is this problem fixable thru a seem edit? Can I fix this problem upgrading to an especific FW? PLEASE HELP!!!! I'm kinda tired of dealing with this problem. Any ideas will be very welcomed. Thanks
