Seem edit for EDGE enabler, looks like a cosmetic thing only, is it ?
Has there been any progress with the updated seem for 29p?

It is unfortunate, but I have similiar results here in the US as well. It's a cosmetic change.Originally Posted by izzy
This is all very strange to me, some people experience edge speeds while others dont.. I really want to see what makes some phones different.

Im in the same boat as godzeus and izzy. my top speeds are peaking at about 25-30kbps max. I could really do to have decent internet for the prices paid for it.
2nd report:
I have installed the jBenchmarks program on my A1200 enabled EDGE, and the test results are this time different.
- Download = 107 Kbit/sec
- Upload = 23 Kbit/sec
Does it prove I got EDGE seam edit, really enabled on my A1200 ?

Wow... i wish i was pulling 107 down. Im only getting about 25 or so max down and about 32 up.Originally Posted by izzy
Hi.. Could you tell us where you got that software? I would more than gladly install and run a couple of benchmark tests.. Anything to help the guys here at MTF do their thing!Originally Posted by izzy

Hi![]()
I got an A1200 a few days ago. It had firmware version 25P, but I have flashed it to Bint's 24xp30. Ran the EDGE Radiocomm script and have the E icon, and it turns green if I jump to the home screen while the browser is loading a page. However, the 100k dslreports speed test has been reporting around 20 kbit/s every time I've run it. Tried the jbenchmark utility but it hangs at 60% complete and bogs down the cpu (the utility can be found here if you want to try it.. copied from another thread: http://www.jbenchmark.com/download.jsp?benchmark=net)
Not sure if there is anything else I can try.. did the Cingular ENS seem edit (I have a recent 64k SIM from them), thinking that could possibly help, but nope.. rebooted, removed battery, etc, same thing. I live in San Francisco so I'm pretty sure it's not the cell tower that is the problem..
Willing to help test any way I can. I love the phone so far, but the data transfer is painfully slow..
First, Go to http://www.jbenchmark.com/download.jsp?benchmark=net,
and register yourself, then download & install the: jBenchmarkNet.jad &
jBenchmarkNet.jar to your phone SD.
Running the benchmark test may take up to 1 MB of internet data !
make sure you have a good network plan with your provider !
