I have 53p currently on my ming, and i want to be able to use the motosync software. Does the 30p have the motosync option? When i called motorola the other day they told me the 53p was not for US market (no big surprise!!) but i could send my phone to them and they would put a US firmware version on it for $70. They woudl not tell me what version that was. Does anyone know what the official US firmware will be?

What is everyone opinion of 53p?

I had 59vxp2 now i have 30p
Everything is OK, pfone is little faster and in setup -> usb are few new options...example WEBCAMERA
I'am testing now my new firmware...

I have used the .53p since getting my phone just over a week ago today. I have been able to utilize every piece of software that can be downloaded from the "Downloads" area for the A1200. Battery life..so far... has been excellent. (I totally discharged the phone when I received it and then completely charged it, and I just had to recharge it Saturady night. So that's Monday through Saturday, and that's even while I was goofing around with the internet and downloading and installing mods. Camera seems fine to me for a 2 megapixel camera.

The only issue I am having at the moment is with utilzing a SanDisk 2 MB MicroSD. But I have been given some tips here in the forums that I will try out before blaming it on the .53 FW.

I have a A1200 with firmware R532L4_G_11.40.0FR
Hey, new to the post, but i have a few burning question which i wish to have answer as i honestly need some of the features in the firmware upgrades, most importantly a VOLUME GAIN, as with the headset and phone the volume is horribly low.
Which firmware should i use is it 24xp_bint_emea_l4_debr_b_mis and is this the newest firmware recommended for my phone? Also is the VOLUME GAIN automatic in this fw?
Also what about the 30p is that compatible with my phone?

I converted to the 30xp from 24xp and noticed to important changes:

- Camera quality improved over the 24xp (altough I am using the same resolution).
- Sound improve (alot better then the 24xp), no equelizer but I don't miss it, the minimum setting of the sound in the 30xp is to much (some times) !

Will report back with more foundings...

The firmware installs and runs fine...haven't noticed anything different yet although it seems to be more stable than 24p which locks up on me every now and then.

The download link above works...you just have to try it a few times because they limit the number of connections. I can't get rapidshare to work with Windows Vista; otherwise, i'd upload it there.

Do your apps (pkg apps like yan0's mystuff, screencapture or ekonsole) installed before with 24p work?
Does MPKG work?

Yes, I've tested MPKG, LINLOADER, IPHONE THEMES, GBA emulator...they are all working on the 30p firmware. Yes, I upgraded from 24p successfully.

P.S. This firmware is running on an XP theme (like previous firmwares)...so the icon names have been renamed from its China Mobile names to more "generic" motorola icon names which is GREAT!

That looks good. I was very disapointed when I had a look at the official version of 30p (don't know why I missed this oem-xp one ) but our chinese friends seem to have a solution for all tricks of moto devs, trying to avoid installation of native linux apps (what are they afraid of?).
I'll have the time to look at this fw tomorrow
