then tried usb mass storage mode, it was detected.. but no volume mounted in explorer & in disk management. same thing wen i tried in winxp with all those sdhc patches from net. so had to buy a new card reader.. which i didnt hv till now. sdhc in card reader works in win2000sp4rollup1 itself with no patches flawlessly.. now real trouble began .. just cant partition it.. even though i had nearly 5 diff partition managers.. spent a day googling abt it.. no solution worked..was almost going to try ekonsole command line partition which i had no idea how to do it. then i read abt knoppix 3.8 live cd which i had for emergency situations for my old laptop. qtparted doesnt work it's only virtual mode. again went to root terminal in knoppix & did fdisk.. success atlast. but tried to access in win 2k explorer only 1st partition shows up. others r present only in dskmgmt but cant format bcos they r invalid or tells to reboot which doesnt work. tried again in xp -no use.

this time tried in 7tools partition manager 2009 demo & works superb. in next 5 min i was having 8 gb partitiond as i wanted.. later i tested 7tools pm 2005 also .. which is also grt . but cant explore ro or rw 2nd & later partition in windows 2k or xp in card reader or thru phone. also tried putting removable media as fixed disk.. didnt work? . so wat might be d solution? usbnet mode works.. again only 1st partition works & it is kinda of too slow. reluctant to try samba.. for putting data bcos i never used it.

i tried 3 partitions one of 3.8 gb fat32 , second 3.4 gb fat32 & 128 mb swap.. tried wat marcolnx had told .. just changing attributes of fs from fat32 to fat 16 thru fdisk in ekonsole of only 1st partition rebooted.. phone hangs in 12 seconds. i thinktheoretically it sounds impossible.. practically it might be possible. so gave lots of try.. removed dat startup script also..to rule out other causes of hanging.. probably system gets confused bcos 1st partition is 4 gb in fat16.. upper limit specified in fat 16 is 2 gb?? it was completely struck everytime i rebooted.. i had to remove & reformat d card.. one more possible loop hole may be software used to partition before..? i used 7toolspm.. wen i checked in ekonsole it specified that d end of partition was not aligned to cylinder length ending. but still it never hung before doing attribute change.. so marcolnx plz specify how u did it? which software used to partition? i wud prefer ne kind of partition no.& capacity until nothing is unallocated in card.

i am thinking in one more line .. if system can mount 4gb fat32 why 1st partition has to be fat16..? my reasoning- i dont know i may be wrong .. all pkg app working perfectly well wen they use file browsers of root system i mean bin,home,usr & so on. eg. fbreader, exmms, mfile manager & so on. all other apps where normal file manager pops up to locate files then they r not able to see fat32 first partition of card. so either mod setup of all applications to rootsystem (laborious) or cunningly just tweak normal file manager itself to show root system or even better to identify fat32 partition (i am just suggesting & has absolutely no idea how to do it). still for usb mass storage mode problem might be there if u just tweak file manager to see root system ? wat is ur opinion?
i personally think fat32 4 gb is better than fat16 .. by d way u only use samba to access memory card thru computer? i am in search of one simple way to explore files of all partitions thru win2k laptop..

Please do not make history ... just write your problem.
Please write in English without removing the letters (I have to translate).
Problem for second flash? you do not have to wait hours, rename the file .sbf
Format your SDHC into 3 partitions (fat32-fat32-swap) or like you prefear.
I used GParted (there is also in version LiveCD or DVD) under linux.
In the system there are mkdosfs and fdisk ...
Change id from fat32 to fat16 for first partition (with ekonsole).
To mount the second partition or activate the swap partition you have to install startup or autorun (already attached).
Did the mmca2 folder under "phone"?
Difficult type \\192.168.16.2\ in file manager for Samba?

ok sorry if it was too lengthy. i came to know that usb mass storage mode my computer is at fault . so most problems are inappropriate here. i changed attribute for first partition fat32 to fat16 in ekonsole and rebooted it hangs. i checked in win it asks for reformatting. i want only one clarification after changing attribute to fat 16 , are all applications working?

simply make 3 partitions (fat32-fat32-swap)
If problem changing id (so mobile will not ask format...) make fat16-fat32-fat32-swap
After this (If you maked fat32 for first partition) change id with ekonsole (fdisk...), if you maked fat16 for 1st partition (max2gb) you don't have to make nothing.
Just the folders inside "phone" mmca2 mmca3 (if you maked 3 partitions).
Place autorun or startup script in the root of sdhc.
Check with ekonsole mount (enter) if your partitions mounted or with sysinfo.
With sdhc kernel mass storage will not work (use samba, ftp)

that is a great job Marcolnx, congratulations, Im wonder if with this firmware you can send all yours contacts by Bluetooth like in A1600 firmware.

I remember that tmp_do whiteming2, based in A1600 has this feature.

I have to make a little messy to flash the phone, so I ask first.

very very happy to see you again
About the firmware you can easy restore your conctact with backuprestorenow (not from a1600 AP).
Firmware will flash only AP.
If you need sdhc support I compiled the kernel.
I replaced the whole and fix a lot of stuff (permission and setuid).
In wm2 database was from a1600 (there is also a version jffs2 in Motofan ru with sui), but here not problem.
I think all works fine (thanks also with the great work of Motofan ru users).
You can try spanish portouguese version (after you can easy remove VR portouguese and italian if you don't need).
Please let me know if problem, and thanks a lot if you can test.

Finally, I flashed the phone its looks great, I couldn't test it a lot, only some little things.
The feature I was talking is when you are in contacts, yo can send multiple files by bluetooth in vCard format, a very standard format for almost all applications. So you can import your contacts in gmail, or send multiple contacts to other friend by bluettoth. I have checked and it doesn't have this option. I have only see it in Whiteming2 from tmp-do.
I will keep this firmware, the last one i had was from I dont know where and works prity bad.... but no time to chage it...
