drue :
The 'EDGE patch' that you are using is not actually edge but is EGPRS.
My firmware is already EDGE enabled. You need not apply any other patch.
one more thing novins,
I applied the EDGE patch, but when i tap the signal bar it still says GPRS not EDGE like your screenshot. do i have to unapplied(and how?) the patch?
thx a ton man...

hey novin i have a problem real player cant scan my library every time i try the phone freezes![]()
jetboss :
At what point does it freeze? Whats the message that it says?
as soon as i press refresh it just freezes no percentage nothing but the player works if a select to play one song from file manager it works.... confused this is a great fw but if i cant get this problem solved i will have to go back to amin
last night i flased my ming with this MP. and here's my review compared with amin's EE my previous MP :
speed : average, amin's EE is faster than this MP. but creating swap will make a bit faster. I myself create 80 MB swap
internet : fast, incredibly fast with opera 4 (no need apply font). Im not sure is this because EDGE patch or not cos i rarely get EDGE signal and in my signal bar still showing G instead of E. But internet speed is fast, faster than amin's EE
additional apps : good, i like all of them, though some apps (like sharing and fingerpad) i rarely use. the best app is flip sensitivity control, like this because i still can control my winamp or rockbox when flip closed, but i miss platinum sudoku in Amin's EE, will search for this...
battery strength : average, maybe poor cos this FW drain my batt in half a day, Amin's took a full day
bug (or not ??) :
when i receive text message, sender number is not full. i. e sender is +62856xxx its just show 856xxx (without +62 in front)...
---maybe offtopic---
before I flashed I export entire sms with MPT, then after I finished I imported all back to my MING but they're not showing in my inbox...
is there any possible way I can import all my old messages back??
well that's my review...
best regards to Novins for this great FW...

I also spent the weekend testing out this FW. It has some great features - but here are a couple of things that I noticed:Will post more as I use it more.
- Unable to restore my contacts and SMS's from a saved backup file using BackupRestoreNow. Tried SmartAssistant's restore as an experiment and that worked fine - but of course that wiped out all the new apps installed by this FW - so had to reflash again.
- Battery life - only lasted 1 day. Battery meter still showed full when it suddenly ran out of juice.
- I could not find Opera pre-installed.
- As Scotsman pointed out, the startup and shutdown gifs are reversed. As a result when you start the phone, the gif plays but it is too short, so the screen goes dark for about 30 seconds. (The first time I turned it on after the flash I thought I had bricked my phone. But once you know this will happen it is no big deal.)

FW1: R532_G_11.00.53P
FW2: Hybrid e16Xr
Service: T-Mobile
@kiwiguy
same here, I tried smartassisstant too, and it wiped out all the apps, then I reflashed
Well done. Nevertheless I have a problem with this FW. Would you please just add Persian/Arabic LP from Sadegh's FW. I guess it will make the users 30% more!!!

Paradise lost permanent solution!
Hi All,
For the Backup issue:
The best way to backup your contacts, messages, tasks, events ... please copy the file ezx_user/sysDatabase/main.db to mmc/mmca1. This file contains all of these data and whenever you restore it and restart the phone, all your contacts etc will be back in place. Using BackupRestore applications will just complicate things.
For the Speed issue:
In the benchmark, this firmware ranks the highest. The standard for benchmarking firmwares is MaxtraBench. Results:
Amins ELDORADO = 720
Amins EE = 710
Novins 11.56.11R = 730
For the Battery issue:
It is very possible that it maybe a bit poor at battery life and thats completely because the firmware has a higher speed. You cannot get higher performance with low power consumption.
However, there is no standard for measuring battery life and it all depends on your battery and the way you use your phone.
For the Opera issue:
Opera is titled as Browser under multimedia tab in applications menu.
Thank you all for your reviews. Please keep it up.
