    @NeoStrider
    Your question is about why do the flash? If yes, for me:
    - Change some branded operator strings and correct others about my language
    - Ekonsole advanced with history of commands (you can do a lot with this)
    - Ability to run scripts from the SD or by mobile (as an example fingerpad or upload new volume levels)
    - Remove the boot sounds
    - Improve photos with night function and video
    - Fm radio without headset
    - Busybox and bins (example unrar and unzip)
    - Support SDHC
    This is to give you some examples, as I am concerned.
    Regarding this thread, is a warning to be careful in firmware and in general it is best to do checks before doing the flash (who does not want to do it can always keep the original firmware)

    The point is it WON'T work because it won't keep pace with the LATEST developments.

    @marcolnx
    Nobody needs to flash to have all this.

    Flash is just storage, software is another thing. You can have all this without flashing the phone.

    As for myself, the only thing i flash on my phones is gen-blob, everything else i load with USB or put on the mmc card.

    I prefer to have all this without the need to have inserted the SD.
    In Italy, the model a1200e has not VR and personalized strings of the telephone.
    Also did not support autorun.
    Some things I think we can do with the inserted SD (mount -- bind many stings).
    I prefer to have all (bins busybox ekonsole usbnet inside the phone).

    @All
    haha
    Let's make a new post about the advantages of flashing, and disadvantages

    @wyrm: Qtopia can be used without flashing? the rootfs's are too old, and also, seems like gen-blob doesn't support SDHC ( mine is 8gb Sandisk ), it doesn't read it

    agree¡ '64 Ford mustang is better than '94, XP is better than vista, 80's heavy metal better than 00's, BUT some new things have advantages over old ones
