    Reported Bugs and Issues

This section has gathered up all of the bugs and things that users do not like about Release II (that were reported by users in the posts) and put them in one place. Not all users are experiencing all of these issues, but at this stage, this firmware has a fair number of problems, so it is recommended to hold off flashing to this firmware until these bugs are fixed. Amin is hard at work completing Release III which hopefully will be released sometime in early October.

If you do want to try this FW now then use the modified version posted by Rozysara in Post #43 where a number of the bugs (mainly the Answer Delay Issue - #1) have been fixed. (Rozysara's hybrid is for A1200R's only!)

    Major Bugs
    1. Probably the worst bug is that when you get an incoming call, there is a long 3-5 second delay (lag) from when you answer it to the time that you are actually connected.
    2. Can only turn Bluetooth on from the Device status screen. Not able to turn BT off or make discoverable.
    3. Turning off the antenna turns off BT if its already on. However, turning it on again only turns on BT if it was turned off by the antenna selection.
    4. Date and time settings gets reset automatically.
    5. The calender on the home screen shows appointments one day in advance. As in an appointment for tomorrow is shown on screen today itself. But the alarm goes off only during the preset time.
    6. If there is an appointment shown on the home screen then clicking on it takes you directly to the appointment page - rather than to the calander. The only way to launch the calender is to use the app launcher (if an appointment is shown on the home screen, that is).
    7. There is a glitch in the keyboard when using non-English languages. If you click on the flag (Russian) icon on the keyboard, it displays Russian characters, but the text that's displayed in the message or notepad is the international characters (spanish, french, portugese, italian)
    8. Some users report that when applying themes, they get a wallpaper invalid error (this may only be in latest Rozysara version).
    9. Some users report that when you check a voicemail it does not remove the (!) Notification, still says voicemail. (you can clear it manually). [The Voicemail seem edit appears to fix this]
    10. When answering the phone with bluetooth it freezes and sometimes drops the call.
    Issues with specific Applications
    1. Realplayer: It is very slow when changing tracks. This same issue means that when changing ringtones, going to mmc for audio works, but when you wanna Open something before Inserting it, it takes forever to load up RealPlayer and play.
    2. FMRadio: does not work without headset (this worked fine in Release I)
    3. Gmail: is not configured (This app came preconfigured in Release I)
    4. Exmms donga: has a bug in that if you use it then close the flip, the phone automatically dials the last call
    5. Mscreen: crashes when trying to use it.
    6. QEZXPlayer : does not start
    7. Fingerpad: does not work correctly
    8. Mcleaner(black list): does not work
    9. Notepad: where app closed, it may display a strange Open dialog that has to be closed before you can exit app.
    10. Telnet (NetControl) doesn't work, It closes the connection before the login prompt. [workaround is to use bragon's inetd, telnet - this works fine with dat]
    Minor Cosmetic Bugs
    1. Firmware comes with 7 default phone folders, but users can not delete these folders if not needed.
    2. In the Change Application order mode, the arrow up is inverted. ^^
    3. Settings > Home Setup > Only 3 of the 4 home screen shortcuts are changable. You can not change the Alarm icon (Fix: see Guide to Modding sticky for script to change all 4)
    4. Lina is listed under multiple multiple menu groups. Barcode reader is not listed under any of the app groups (its available only under all).
    5. By default, calander starts at 0am instead of 12am. (0am makes sense for 24hr format, but not 12hr format). [Fix: change it in Main menu -> Time -> left menu -> Setup -> daylight saving setup -> edit "start time" and "end time]
    6. In the Application list, not matter what language you select, the voicemail app is called "Caixa Postal" (Portugese)
    7. The network name is too high on the home screen. (Many users prefer the Network name at the bottom of the screen as it was in EE1).
Reported Bugs that may not have anything to do with the Firmware
    1. One user reported an issue with his Recent Calls List: When he used the phone to look at the calls list, and entered one of the three options, when he backed out of it, the Recent calls box is empty with the Cancel button on the bottom.
    2. One user reported that when he synchronized his contacts with Exchange ActiveSync, it worked the first time, but after he edited his contacts on the phone, he was not able to synchronize again. To synchronize he has to unmark the contacts option (in Exchange ActiveSync) to sync the other stuffs (events and e-mail).
If you find any other bugs that are not reported here (or if any of the above are reported incorrectly), then please post to thread and they will be moved/corrected here. Make sure you put what version of the FW you are using (A1200R or A1200E) to help Amin fix them..

Useful Tips when Using this Firmware:

    Speeding up the phone

You can speed up the response of your applications by going to Setup -> input Setup -> Mouse Press and Hold Speed and set it to medium or high

    Lina

Lina 2.0 award you all of super assistant services in better organized, user friendly and graphical menus and also has extra feature to compressing your files!
Also backup algorithm reviewed and optimized(now restoring backups will not cause to lose preload firmware applications!)

If issues with getting Lina to work
    1. You have to use small letter in extension, e.g. *.pkg is true nor *.PKG, PkG, etc...
    2. No spaces are allowed in filename, e.g. "My Player.pkg" will not work.

Phone freezes when changing Ringer Styles.

Some users have reported that their phone freezes when selecting a new sound. Amin's response is that you need to wait at least 3 second between each sound selection, it may be slow, but does not actually freeze.

If phone freezes when using RealPlayer

A couple of users reported that when they tried to scroll down through a playlist or an album, or any other type of list, the phone froze.

This is not a FW issue, but caused by having a corrupt folder in their music folder on the SD card. IF you plug phone into PC and perform a full chkdsk then it will show if this is cause. If so, delete that folder.

    Creating new MMS Profiles

The FW comes with a large list of MMS profiles already defined, but it seems to have filled up all the space allowed. Before you can create your own profile, you must delete 1 or more of the existing ones (recommend delete all if not needed)

    To create profiles:
    1. Open the browser
    2. Go to setup>profiles
    3. Create a new profile. in that, select your GPRS settings in the network link and save
    4. Select the new profile and save.

    Service patches:

    swap file patch(Lina): /mmc/mmca1/Amin.FW/.swap
put your swap.bin file here and activate it with lina.
    hiding files in(Lina): /mmc/mmca1/Amin.FW/hide
here you can put your private data and hide/ unhood by Lina.
    compress file(Lina): /mmc/mmca1/Amin.FW/compress
All files in this folder will Compress separately, if you wanna compress some files together, just put all in a folder and place it in compress folder!
    Backup(Lina): /mmc/mmca1/Amin.FW/Backup
    Location off backup files.
    preload folder patch: /mmc/mmca1/Amin.FW/preload
put your desired suit files here to preload as default, list of supported files(all words small letter):
    1. startup.wav
    2. on.gif
    3. off.gif
    4. myfont.ttf
    5. ezx_volumetable.cfg
    Download Links:

CAUTION: Be carefull to download and flash with correct firmware for your handset (C2 OR A1200 EDGE).

Do not try to install on E6 or any other phones.

    Default Explanation

Sorry, I will try to explain better.
On the home screen if I have an calendar event
when I click on it the screen changes to a view of the event, before if i clicked on it it would go to the calendar view in month layout.

Hey all. Been awhile since I've been back, but after spending the last two days tinkering with Amin's Elite version, now I get to redo everything. =)

I'd like to Thank Amin for makin some kickin FW! Tho I'll have few questions later.. One of which is Skin/Theme support, built in or do I need the installers for them?

As a Thanks and to help everyone else out, as I know I dispise rapidshare and other 'free' hosts, I offer this:

    http://www.staufproductions.com/forums/moto/

I'll keep hosting it until the host starts griping or I'm over limit.. lol

    Thanks Amin!

    Default Calander

Ok, so what your saying is that it is not possible in this version of the FW to click on the calender display and get to the month layout.

I have to add the calendar button to the home screen shortcuts?

Okay, to everyone with the Event bug, see my posts on pg 3. I went thru some of the bugs yesterday.

I never got the notification bug.

The 7 default folders is an odd one as when I flashed it, it gave 7, then I reflashed it and got 5, reflashed again and got 7. Another odd one imo..

The camera quality is down a tiny bit maybe from EE1, much like the FM Radio hickup between EE1 and EE2.

I never tried the bt or anything else as I wanted to pin down the other things I noted first.

I may make and post up a clean backup.gho file for ppl who want a working clean start. ref: pg3

(file created and attached. remove .zip as it's a .gho file. to use with ee2, goto file manager and click on file)

Yes, I reflashed my ming at least 6 times yesterday trying s#!t..
