Just my opinion, but i think if a v2.0 is in the works, that perhaps an option to revert back (w/o restarting) would be cool. Thanks for this app!!

Worked for me however my phone freezes when connecting via mass storage mode... (after applying the font..) I'm using E6 w/ 06p f/w.

mine did that the first few times too. the first time, it froze on me and i had to take the battery out. but after that, when i connect to mass storage mode, it takes maybe an average of 10 seconds for my computer to recognize the card (still slower than normal but better than freezing anyway).

Just copy the font to your phone memory and it will solve your freezed problem..

@chetan_2002_2003: can you please clarify what is not working in vibe profile. Its fine for me.

@imahottguy: there is no way to unbind the font file - if you know what I mean. So restarting is the only way to go back to the default font or the method below.

I did a few tests on my phone about the font file on the TransFlash and using Mass Storage mode.

Here is what I observed on my phone(12P firmware):

- apply a font on the TransFlash
- Set the USB mode to mass storage
- Connect to a PC with the phone flap open
- phone freezes
- Press and hold the end key. Close the phone flap(this step seems important!). Open flap. Repeat this step(about 2-3 times) and the phone seems to recover with the default font set.
- In another trial, I just closed the flap and after about 2mins opened the flap and the phone had recovered.
- In yet another trial, I connected to the PC with the flap closed and the phone recovered in about 30s - test with the side volume buttons.
- After recovery, need to disconnect and reconnect to PC USB for the PC to detect the phone mass storage.

So as a solution, please copy the font to phone memory (/ezx_user) using smbd(I could not copy using yan0's mystuff even though I had disk space) and then ApplyFont using yan0's mystuff by tapping on the font. This way, the font in use is not on the TransFlash and it will not freeze when mass storage mode is activated.

I'll try to make all this automatic in a safe way - need to ensure /ezx_user does not get full. I'll keep you all posted but this may not come immediately.

I've updated the original posts for the benefit of all. Let me know if any point is missing.

Great work rubpa. I used to bind the font and then switch from antenna off/on couple of times to apply the font to all the tasks. This app has eliminated all that extra work.
But i also have the exclamation mark problem. Everytime i have to restart the phone and apply the font again. Although this is not a problem with this particular app. I used to have this problem with my earlier method of changing the font.

kamal, rajesh : use google to search for fonts. There are hundreds and thousands on the net. These forums also have some fonts. Search for them. You could also copy your favourite desktop font from your PC to your phone and use it.

Please read the original post for the installation instructions. If you have mpkg installed, its very easy. Else start from the sticky posts. If everything is alright, you just need to click on fonts i.e *.ttf files in the file manager to apply them.

I found a few bugs:

I'm not sure why, but phone crashes when trying to load calibri.ttf I'm pretty sure its a standard office font. won't work, everytime I try I have to take out my battery. lol.

the other one is I'm not sure with all fonts, but when using segoe ui everything looks perfect except picsel viewer shows no text. I'd assume it's not the font because nothing is out of place at all in the phone's gui with this font.

DzNuts, I did not find calibri.ttf on my system. I don't think this app is the cause of the crash. Probably the font is incompatible with the ming. Please post it here and we can try.
