The English version of this is posted here ==> http://www.motomodders.net/Default.a...mid=80&tpage=1

This music/video/photo player looks very promising, but even after changing the permissions I still could not get it to show any directories to open files (ie the Playlist screen was blank). I am going to keep playing with it, but if anyone figures out how to make this work on A1200, please post here.

I can access media files but the settings screen is blank and when I play mp3's there's no sound. Doesn't seem to work for a1200.

Figured out how to get it to work!! It has a very similar interface to itunes (see screen shots)

Edited April 6th to include changes mentioned in later posts - so this should be full set of instructions and pros/cons.

Per the developer, this is a proof of concept application to show that a phone can have an interface similar to itunes - but some things are a bit flaky:
    Things it can do
    • Play songs
    • View photos
    Weaknesses
    • Can only play music files from your SD card
    • Can not play videos
    • Settings screen is blank
    • Can only display photos in small format (needs hard keys to use other photo functions)
    • Response to joystick is very slow when playing a song.
    • Has no dedicated Exit button. Need to click twice on Red "end call" button to show soft Exit button.

However if you want to try it out here are the instructions. You have to download both the .jar and the .jad file and then open the .jad file in Wordpad before installing it and make two changes:
    • change the following line (some people found this change optional. Does not do any harm!)
      Code:
      StorageCard: file:///SD/
      to
      Code:
      StorageCard: file:/mmc/mmca1/
    • insert the following line at the end of the file:
      Code:
      MIDlet-Permissions: javax.microedition.io.Connector.file.read
      .
    • Save and Exit.
Then in order to get it to show your phones directories so you can open files you must follow these instructions exactly:

    1. Copy the cTunes.jad and cTunes.jar files to the SD card.
    2. From the phone's file manager install the using the JAD file.
    3. When prompted where to install the app, make sure you select the "SD Card" option and not the "Phone".
    4. After install connect the phone to you PC in mass storage mode.
    5. Browse the memory card and go to directory \.system\java\DownloadApps\MIDletxxx folder where xxx should be the highest number in the directory.
    6. Make sure that the app is really cTunes app by checking for \.system\java\DownloadApps\MIDletxxx\Files\cTunes.jar.
    7. Now edit the file \.system\java\DownloadApps\MIDletxxx\registry.txt and perform the following steps:
    - Set DRM: Allowed.
    - Set Is-Trusted: 1.
    - Set Domain: Trusted Third Party.
    8. Save and exit the file.
    Code:
    Jar-Path: /mmc/mmca1/.system/java/DownloadApps/MIDlet20124/Files/cTunes.jar
    Jad-Path: /mmc/mmca1/.system/java/DownloadApps/MIDlet20124/Files/cTunes.jad
    Perm-Path: /mmc/mmca1/.system/java/DownloadApps/MIDlet20124/permfile.txt
    Suite-Icon:
    DRM-Mode: Allowed
    Is-Trusted: 1
    Jar-URL: cTunes.jar
    Description:
    Domain: Trusted Third Party
    Signer-Name:
    Mot-JavaVM-Heapsize: 0
    Delete-Notify:
    Num-MIDlets: 1
    9. Unplug from PC and on the phone, hold the stylus on the cTunes icon until the little menu pops up. Select Manage-->Permissions. Set both the "User File Read" and "User File Write" to "Ask Once".

It should ask you once when you start the app if it can read files; then will show all your directories when you select Music.

When playing a song, pressing the joystick
Center click --> Pauses the song.
    Right --> Fast forward
    Down --> Start again
Left --> Back to Previous menu

Left side top button --> increases volume
Left side bottom button --> decreases volume.

I'm able to access the files without editing the jad file but when it plays audio there is no sound. I am able to view pictures but no audio. It's a shame because the interface is really good.

For anyone who has this working, what firmware are you using?

I am on .08 plus - so it may be firmware specific? (Are you sure you have the volume up - press the top left side button several times).

Also for "StorageCard: file:/mmc/mmca1/" - that is a "1" (one) at end - not a small letter L!!

I doublechecked what my registry.txt file has and it has "Trusted Third Party" so I edited my instructions to remove changing it to Operator - as looks like that is not necessary.

(As part of my playing around trying to get it to work I had also tried putting "Manufacturer" thinking that was a "super user" - but that resulted in the phone asking me dozens of times for access - once for every file on my SD card I think!)

I got it to work, but how does this read ID3 tags? It doesn't show up any info on what song I'm playing and etc... And the menu is totally laggy when I'm playing a song...
