Did you read the Guide to Modding sticky at top of forum? It has detailed instructions on how to install MPKG. You have to be very careful that you install the correct version for your firmware - otherwise it will not work - especially if you have 25P or 34P.

    I don't think u need an antivirus 4 MING.

Reason is pretty simple, MING is based on Linux (EZX platform), whereas the majority of the phones in the market are on Symbian. Any hacker/virus developer would like to target a very large community where the damage caused by the virus s/he unleashes is wide spread. Linux mobiles aren't so common yet 4 any virus developer to take interest, so in my opinion we are on a very safe boat; and we'll be safe atleast 4 some more time.

So, don't worry n be happy...

Default Removing "System Volume Information" and "Recycled" folders

    Swaroop,
I'm assuming that u r using Windows as ur OS on ur computer. "System volume information" and "Recycled" folders are system default folders created by Windows. Its safe to delete these folders from ur phone once u disconnect 4m ur PC.

Some info, if u already don't knw:

System volume information folder stores info that is used for the system restore option in windows. It basically stores status info about that particular drive/partition. To prevent ur system from creating this folder, with the phone connected to ur system, open "system properties" from control panel or Right click my computer and select properties. Then select the "System Restore" tab and select the drive wich indicates ur phone and click settings and check "turn off sys...." option. U won't have the folder created 4m next time...

Recycled folder is a part of the Windows' recycle bin. The recycle bin creates a hidden recycled folder in all the physical drives connected to the machine. This is where the files u delete will be moved to. To prevent ur PC 4m creating this folder, with ur phone connected, open recycle bin properties and then in the "Global" check "configure drives inde..." and select the drive which indicates ur phone and then select "Do not move ..." option and click apply. Ur PC won't create the folder 4m next time.

NOTE: These changes have to be applied on all the computers that u connect ur phone to. Also I'm not sure if the settings will work if the drive prompt for ur phone changes.

If u do not have the previleges to make the changes to ur Windows machine, just forget everything and manually delete the folders from ur phone using the file manager...
