what firmware are you running
I was at the ROKR E6 forums and saw Alpha's post, try it on my A1200 and it worked! I went to CNET's bandwidth test, the result is 140+Kbs.
Here's the link to the post [url]http://www.motorolafans.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9201
Here's the script to use with Radiocomm and how to run it.
As soon as Radiocom come up and deteacted your phone, look to the far right you will see a bunch buttons, one of them label 'setup button', click that and locate the script you have downloaded and type in the label of the button something like 'Enable EDGE' or what ever you like, then click the button label 'SET'. When done close that window, now you should have a new button labeled the way you name it, just click on it.
Thanks to Alpha for posting this wonderful discovery.

24xp, I didn't think it matters. Try it and post back with your firmware version if you can.
Actually..I saw a post a while back at ccmove by Bint, he hinted that only 24P can enable EDGE and showed a screen capture of his A1200 w/ the E instead of G displayed...
I will try this mod on my generic 08P tonight and report back...
I don't think alpha uses 24p. I maybe wrong but I think he is using 08p on his Ming.Originally Posted by justthinking
Glad to see the site is back up and running!!!!
Anyone know if this works in generic 53P?
OK! I did the seem edit on generic 53p and the edge symbol does appear after I restart but I'm unsure about the bandwidth. The cnet bandwidth test did not seem to work for me (perhaps because I'm located outside the US?). I'm currently looking for an application or site that can test my bandwidth. If anyone knows of such a thing let me know.

And I also know no one,

OK! Spoke to some people using edge and they confirmed that the service here in Trinidad is not what it should be![]()
The seem edit does appear to work but my service provider is not up to the task. I'm getting dial up speeds. Guess I'll have to switch services.

It does work with .08p firmware, and the way I tested the bandwidth is to connect to your computer using USB cable.
Here's the script that will do everything in one click in Radiocom.
