ok this is as easy as pie.
1. after d/l startup1.rar and butterfly.rar provided by ajit (thnx by the way) you need to unrar startup1.txt. Open butterfly.rar and go into the file until you see "myfont.ttf" unrar this file as well.
2. take both the "startup1.txt" and "myfont.ttf" files and copy them into the root directory of your TF card.
3. make sure that they are in the root directory of your TF card. Then shut your phone off then turn it back on and the font has changed.
4. this works with any true type font just rename the font to "myfont.ttf" and place it in your TF root directory, however if the font does not have the chinese or japanese alphabet included with it then the characters will not display. (try this at your own risk)
finally i have got it right and i managed to install "chicago", the font used in the ipod. actually, a similar font which i downloaded from dafont.com and modified in size (see ..fonts>metrics) using a small programm called "softy".
it works fine for english, but it does not display chinese characters which sucks. does anyone know how to incorporate a chinese character set into the existing .ttf file ???
would be great!
as for now i attach the font as i am using it. have fun!
Hi friends
after pasting the downloaded files and rebooting the phone , the fonts were not changed.
nothing was happened.
I SOLVED IT. great !! I used "font creator" to create a combination of an ok chinese font (黑体) together with the scaled-down pixchicago. it looks great !
if there was only a nice and clean theme to match it....
What If after changing the font, I need my original A1200 font.
How to change it to default font.
What default font is used in A1200
Sunil.
The site seems to indicate that this is for the modified 48p and 53p only. Can anyone confirm having this work with generic 53p?

i am working with bint's 59xp vers2. it works brilliantly.
for the problem of changing back: no sweat ! just delete either the script (startup.txt) or the myfont.ttf file and at the following startup your phone has returned to the original typeface.
Just delete myfont.ttf and restart the phone.Originally Posted by linus16181
