I read your readme text and would like to hear how loud i want it. Sorry, been working at stereo shop for a while.. kind of deaf
And thank you for your advise and help.

Sorry I should have mentioned whats needed to edit the file.
I update my original post with the programs that will work.

I am also thinking about changing the file on the memory card to a .txt so you can edit with the phone but I need to change the script and test it.
    I will let you know.
Thank you and thank you many more for your effort to better our phone. I will try to play around with the VIM program... but changing in on the phone will be alot easier especially for a dummy like me who has no idea what so ever with programing. I will wait for your great news ..
    THanks... Dan

I tried the volume fix and to me there doesn't seem to be a noticeable difference, if any at all. It stills seems pretty low in volume when I talk on the phone. Is the bluetooth headset volume louder w/ this version? Thanks!

OK, this volume fix is great. Just one problem now -- I can't install themes or skins like I could before. I tried changing the mpkg back to the original and reinstalling the skin/theme loaders. Any suggestions?

Also, after the volume fix, my speakerphone doesn't really work with the flip closed. I can hear the other party fine, but they can't seem to hear me. Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

If you didnt use the modified mpkg then the program will still run but wont make any difference in the volume.
Did you backup and replace that file?

The updated installer should not make a difference.
I installed 4 java games,(java does not use the mkpg but I wanted to be sure) and 7 other pgk packages and they all work.
If you changed it back to the other mkpg then it should install.
    estockand,
Did you restart the phone after changing back to the other installer?
I have not tried any themes, are the thems pgk files?

Also I have not heard of the speaker phone issue. I could figure out how to get it louder by adjusting the table but then you take the risk of feedback since the mic and speaker are so close together.
Try turining down the volume on notch when its on speaker phone, let me know if this works.

Do you have telnet or ssh access to you phone?
If so do a "df -k" command. If you see "/usr/SYSqtapp/sound" then the program worked. If not then it did not install correctly. Make sure you updated the mkpg file, then uninstall and resinstall the volumeup program.
Run it, telnet back into the phone and check again.
