[APP] Perfect EQUALIZER for ROCKBOX-AFTER HARDWORK OF 3 MONTHS

Hi guys. I have worked very hard to create these 2 equalizers called....

• ANAND FEEL THE MUSIC - produces very soothing music output
• ANAND VOCAL - produces crystal clear voice of singer

[These strange names were given to me so do get confused!]

KEY FEATURE: SOUND WILL NOT GET DISTORTED EVEN AT HIGHEST VOLUME



INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS

1. Download all the attached files -both rockbox and the equilizers.
2. [If you already have rock box installed and have changed the eqs settings, then uninstall rock box along with rockbox folder]
3. Install rockbox (seet this thread for detailed install instructions]
4. Copy and paste the 2 equalizer files to the following folder on your SD card: mmca/mmca1/rockbox/archos/.rockbox/eqs
5. Start Rock box
6. Go to Settings --> Sound settings and set following:
   BASS = 0
   [If you love bass make it +24 don't worry bass will not get distorted]
   TREBLE = 0
   BALANCE = 0
   CHANNEL = STEREO
   STEREO WIDTH = 104%
   CROSSFEED = OFF
   EQUALIZER = ENABLE = YES
   DITHERING = NO
   HARDWARE EQS = YES
   
7. Go back to EQUALIZER option and set following:
   Precut = -13
   'Advanced EQ Settings' --> 'Low Shelf Filter' --> Gain --> -4
   'Browse EQ Presets' --> select either
   - ANAND FEEL THE MUSIC or
   - ANAND VOCAL
   
8. Set the sound of Rock Box to Maximum

Don't touch anything else.

I have tested with 6 different brands of phone and works on all great!

Hi Anand, Thanks for creating such a lovely application . I have been trying to install the new updated Rock box since last 2 day. Not Happening BUDDY!!.. Is it possibble for you to plz guide me in a more simlyfied way and step by step towards installing this in my Moto Ming. I have been desperate to get this enhancement in my mobile. Dina, i have already installed winamp and rock box (older version) in my Motoming with the help of MPKG. The problem is that , those application had only one file to be installed (in pkg) whereas the rockbox developed by Anand has no. of files which iam really having a hard time placing in the right place .This is the very reason i was asking for more simplified step to install the Rockbox properly.

Ok, I see your problem. I guess you have to just copy the rockbox folder to your system folder and add an entry in the SysRegistry to add it to the app launcher. I had installed his equalizers on an existing installation of Rockbox that I already had on my phone.

He has not developed any new version of rockbox, I had just asked him to post the version he was using along with the equalizers. Since you already have rockbox installed on your phone, just put his equalizers in and n'joy the music...

If you wish to use this version of rockbox, then just replace the existing rockbox folder with this and put in his equalizers. this way you need not bother about creating an entry in the registry. If you uninstall the existing setup, u've to manually put the entry in registry. There is a thread that discusses about how to manually create SysRegistry entries, just do a search on the forum.

Hi Dina, thanks for all the effort you are taking to guide me. Request you to plz bear with me as i am not that tech savy.. Just assume as in i have removed the entire older version of Rockbox and i want to install the entire newer version. Do i have to copy the entire Rockbox folder (ie rockbox + system folder) in the .System Folder? I dint get the line"add an entry in the SysRegistry to add it to the app launcher" what kind of entry" See in my .System file there are the follwing folders and the files within it .
1.Bin ( Contest file)
2.Java, (.RegistryFileCard,CardRegistry,CardRegistry.bak,DownloadApps Folder,JAMInfo Folder)
3.Java1(.RegistryFileCard,CardRegistry,DownloadApps Folder,JAMInfo Folder)
4.QT Download (all the application folder installed in my mobile)
5.QT Download 2

Here is the deal,
1. You 've to copy the folder rockbox [containing rockbox and system folders] into your .system/QT Download folder.
2. Open the Java folder and locate the CardRegistry file and open it with any Wordpad / Notepad++ / TextPad / Crimson editor / etc. DO NOT USE NOTEPAD. It will not open correctly.
3. Create a backup of this file somewhere safe.
4. Clone the registry entry for an existing application for this one. The entry starts with a Hex value enclosed within square brackets [] and ends with the property "Visible"
5. Update the values for AppID, Directory, BigIcon, Exec, etc to point to your new folder / executable.
5.a. AppID is unique value, so choose a value that is already not there in the card registry. It is a Hex value, I would advice converting the value to integer using Windows calculator, add 4 or some other num to it and convert it back to Hex and put it there. Remember the value should be same in the starting line enclosed in [ ] and the AppID property.
6. Save the file, close it, and reset/restart the phone. you should see the app in the app launcher.

@Dheeresh - I don't prefer sharing my contact details, it is against my policy, so I'm sorry on that... May be if you be patient for one more day, I'll upload my copy of rock box along with the equalizers once I get my hands on my card reader.
