    Default Madness!!

    C'mon people, someone reply, please! This is madness, don't you think? There are several people who have no trouble using the English version and some others who STILL see "squares" instead of characters in this app!

    I believe that during the process of installing this app, the "english" patch is applied and then the app is added to the startup script, isn't that right? I got no startup scripts support in my f/w so I suppose the patch cannot be applied properly..

    Anybody care to reason a bit about this?

    Don't be mislead by the documentation. The two files that it is referring to have recently been included in the main installation package. The documentation was written some time ago when you also needed those files. Just install the PKG file posted and you should be fine.

    P.S. Oh and if you actually get it to work properly, please post back here to say whether the application displays english characters or square ones!

    Default foxalarm

    Create new folder in mmc, name it as startup.txt and install foxalarm.

    No good... It STILL won't display English. I tried with both startup.txt file and startup.txt folder. Is the application using a special font or something? I can't think of another reason.

    From FOXALARM.doc
    e. Create a file called foxapp.cfg at /ezx_user/download/appwrite/setup/ , and enter the following:
    [alarm]
    InstallDir = /ezx_user/download/QTDownload/foxalarm
    Note: This file must be in a UNIX format.
    I had to create the file above, and it got me English !!

    for me foxapp.cfg says
    InstallDir=/mmc/mmca1/.system/QTDownLoad/foxalarm

    try it, it may work

    It suddenly occured to me that this app would be of no use since my f/w does not support autorunning (run autorun.txt file on startup). I have similar application that makes ONLY pkg apps execute at startup, but one would need to execute just a line of script and not a pkg app. Anyone with a little programming experience on Ming should check out this thread, it would probably help out a lot of people...

    EDIT: A'ight I'm gonna try to modify an existing PKG app in order to make the app I've requested on my own. I don't have any experience but I think I'll make it Probably on the weekend, when I'll have the time. In the meantime, any ideas would be nice!

    ya.. i too thought of that.... it would be nice..1 simple way to do that just see which program uses a .lin file for execution at startup.. eg.when you start today program it executes today.lin file... so just we need to Install a duplicate of today program and.... repalce the contents of today.lin with our own requirements... thats it.... and delete the other files except today.lin for saving memory space... when you run this app at startup using the startup application you can use the fingerpad.... BUT THE STARTUP APPLICATION RUNS AFTER THE LOADING OF OS...startup scripts runs at boot time....... any how this will work for 100% according to me !!!!!!
