Also, as you are using the MIC (microphone) to capture the external audio, Is it possible to develop a new voice recorder?
I have posted some source codes for a Mp3 recorder in the development section and also the original motorola CAMERA source code, where there is a video and audio recorder source code (From Motorola).

because the lights of your phone is not similar to disco lights or electronic sequencing lights. on off will wear out your back light. its your phone not mine.
