Thread: [APP] MegaRenamer - Rename installed aplications

  1. #1

Arrow [APP] MegaRenamer - Rename installed aplications

New version with small fixes and reload option

    MegaRenamer
    -

I made this app to MegaLauncher but i decided to also release it by himself for people who just wants this.

    What it does ?
It changes applications name using a list box with all the installed applications.

You don´t need MegaLauncher to use this app.

Great app. I waited for a long time for such an app.
    BUT:
It would be nice to do a mass renaming (i mean rename an app, rename another one, and so on and after you've finished renaming refresh menu).
It's annoying to refresh the menu after each and every renamed app.
Maybe you don't want to refresh the menu at all. Just let it be until the next reboot.

    BUG 1:
I've tried to rename DLauncher to Doom 1 & 2 and I've got Doom 1 Name = DLauncher 2. I supose there is a var called & which holds the line containing the name of the app from CardRegistry.
After renaming to Doom 1 + 2 + expansion it worked fine

    BUG 2:
After renaming something and refreshing the menu if you try to install a java app you'll see that it won't apear in the menu. You have to refresh the shell (i use smartasst: open go to App Man, choose Run - this way you will refresh the shell)

    @BruceLee
Thanks for the observations, i will work in an inproove with your sugestions.
In a matter of fact, ii thought so interesting that i will also add an option to just reload the menus in MegaLauncher.
