    Hi,
    Please also try volset 0.1 or 0.2; because, although 0.1 and 0.2 have fewer options for increasing the volume, available options (High and Extra) have a greater impact on the volume. Otherwise, please change some of the settings, apply "update sound", and then upload "ezx_volumetable.cfg" of your phone here. This file is located in "/ezx_user/sound" directory. You can access the file via mystuff or ekonsole.

    I'm about to buy a A1200r and the f/w is 25p. I wanted to know if this seem edit will fix the low earpiece volume problem? Is 25p the only f/w for the a1200r? Sorry for all the questions. I haven't owned a Linux phone for that long. I had a Ming awhile back, but had the earpiece volume issue and and ended up selling it. Since then I stayed with Synergy.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi,
    I am sure this software (VolSet) can fix the earpiece low volume problem. Regarding your other question, please read http://www.motorolafans.com/forums/s...ead.php?t=8128

    Hi,
    It should work. Why don't you just give a try? It won't harm your phone.

    I've pushed the interface of "volset" to its limit, and modified it once again (perhaps for the last time!). The changes include:

    1) Titles of items have been further reduced, so that all 19 items of the volume table can be included in the interface (and can be increased up to 8 levels).
    2) When "Update Sound" button is pressed, a log file called "volset.log", which shows a summary of performed actions, is created and saved in the tmp directory of the phone.

    As a side effect of the first change, volset now needs a little more time to load (about 5 seconds). Please note that I haven't applied all the available increasing options (+1, +2, etc.) to my phone. So apply these options (particularly higher ones) at your own risk!!. My recommendation is: gradually increase the volume and apply higher options only if you found lower ones unsatisfactory.

    How to Install:
    1) Install the original volset.pkg from the first post above
    2) unzip "volset_0.4.zip" and copy its content into ".systemQTDownLoadvolset" directory of your phone (some of the files will be overwritten).
    If you are using one of the previous modified versions, just do the second step (there is no need to uninstall volset).

    regards

    Hi,
    Please use mystuff to look at your /tmp directory. You should find a file called "volset.log" there. If you open this file by the phone's "Notes" application, you'll see the first picture.

    Hi again,
    Apparently, the update sound has not been completed successfully. Please have a look at your CardRegistry file in ".system/java". Search for the section related to volset (by searching for "Name = volset"). There should be two other lines as follows:
    UserID = root
    GroupID = root
    It might be the case that UserID and GroupID have been set to "ezx" (instead of "root") and that would cause the error message you get. In that case, edit the CardRegistry (after making a backup copy!) by a suitable editor (such as Crimson) and change "ezx" into "root", save the CardRegistry, restart the phone, run the volset, and look at volset.log file (and please report the result here).
